Something Solas talks about which has really got me thinking -- the removal of the veil, allowing for spirits to come and go as they please -- as I find the idea to be equal parts fascinating and terrifying, and I am curious to know others' thoughts on the matter.
Some thoughts from me (good/bad denotation obvious)...
+ Spirits are fascinating creatures.
+ Spirits may have some valuable knowledge, rare/unique magic to offer us.
– It may make us easier targets for possession.
+ Or, spirits may not feel the need to possess the living if they can enter our world without it.
+ It may be easier to resist possession if we have more experience dealing with spirits than merely in dreams.
– Spirits, even the "good" ones, have proven unreliable, and a difficult threat to contain when hostile.
– Spirits, by their nature, may be too incompatible with our society.
+ Connection to the Fade can restore the Tranquil.
– Connection to the Fade can restore the Tranquil.
Overall, it's an idea that offers some intriguing possibilities, but ... one would really like to see a working model of such a thing before taking the idea further, given an overwhelming number of negative experiences with an open veil and spirit visitors.
