I loved DAI once I figured out how to fix a lot of the problems I was having. I did not have music or banter until I used the world map to travel.  Then everything played just as I remembered in DAO and DA2 with music, banter, interesting and compelling conversations.

I do agree that a lot of the PC functions we are all use to are not there, but I was able to adjust to the games mechanics to make it enjoyable. There is also a mod out there that allows you to have a Isometric view like you did in DAO (Link: http://www.loadthega...metric-view/) . Now IMHO it should be in the game by default. There are bugs but nothing game breaking.

I felt Act 1 was the BEST act in the game, Act 2 was the second best. Because I was spoiled knowing what was going to happen in the end, it did not have as big an impact as I had hoped.  The ending I found confusing, and honestly was not as satisfying as DAO.

However with that being said, I feel like it should have been story narrative driven, romances should of been longer/more complex.  I feel like they were very thin and fleeting. I am thankful that I read Asunder and The Masked Empire, it made the game more richer and more in depth then it would have been otherwise. Not that you should rely on reading books but everyone is missing out on a lot of context to the story because they probably did not read the books.

There are many characters from the books in DAI and I was thrilled to see. Unless you're going to immerse yourself in the game you won't enjoy it as much.

I bought this game for the story, and I love the story, I wanted more story, more options as I had in DAO. Also because you do not know what your approval is with your companions, you do not realize you're missing out on content because your approval is too low. The truth is many people are missing out on content and they don't even realize it.

I think Bioware did a disservice to the player by not allowing us to know where we stand with the companions. I did not realize how much story I lost until I saw other YT and Twitch streams.  It does make me want to go back and re-play it.  But I decided I want to stand by my decisions and not do whatever I need to do to get approval from everyone.

I am over 200 hours in to the game and there is still a lot to do.  It would be useful if the extra content had the feeling of it being more critical to the story.  I also think the "play your way" was taken too far and that is why many people are upset. DAO had an area to explore and discover. In DAO, major decisions along the way felt major.  To me DAI did not have the same impact as DAO. I never got that satisfying conversation in at the end of Act Two. I probably did something wrong or didn't hit the right options. But no mater what options I selected it should have been satisfying.

The extra pre-order stuff that you get was not as impressive, except for the sound track, and the dragon throne, the extra mounts were ugly, the red hart and the sounds it makes are annoying and I refuse to use it again.

I know this review sounds really critical, I still am glad I bought the game and look forward to the fixes and DLC that will come out next.  There is need for more storage, more hair options, casual outfits, more romance, more story.  Just more! :) Let's hope the stuff they cut out of the game will be added later on via free DLC.

Your decisions in DAI seem to impact the next game but I don't think anyone wants to wait 3-4 years to see their impact to the world, we want to see it in this game.
