So, the worst game Bioware has ever made got a GOTY award. How amusing.

Although it doesn't mean anything unless the game gets like another 100 GOTY awards... which will definitely never happen. xD

There is no way this game is worse than the NWN1 OC.

If you don't tell Bioware what they did wrong, they won't be able to fix it.

They've already heard your complaints in the appropriate threads. Do you believe that undermining their accomplishments is relevant?

It seems more petty than constructive really.

You are right. They did fix things. All of Da2 did wrong, you asked for it. you (we) asked for all these changes.
Remember the "story is non epic, story is crap, reused small enviroments, japanese final faantasy artstyle, fast combat . action oriented combat, eavedrop quests etc
I am right; you know it. All these things are fixed.
And now it is da2 over again.
Same as me3 thread.

How exactly is he "undermining their accomplishments" Criticism of the product you've bought is not undermining it at all.

How exactly is he "undermining their accomplishments" ? Because he's  not taking part in virtual ticker tape parade?

DaI does many things right and some bad, yet people focus on the bad without ever mentioning vast majority of good.
This is undermining.

By claiming that the reward is undeserved when one has no insight on how the reward was chosen, by offering weak (and mostly subjective) arguments.

By claiming that the reward is undeserved when one has no insight on how the reward was chosen, for one.

love Dragon Age but giving a GOTY award when it's been out for less thin a month sounds like the award was undeserved.

Neverwinter Nights is a good game and better than DA:I in every way.

Give me a break. do you always go in the relative forum each time you played a game you did not like?
i don't, in fact i am selling the copy and the i move on.
People who love the game have more constructive things to say; because they love the game.

And who says time is a relevant criterion?
By your logic, older games have an unfair advantage by virtue of being released earlier.
How is that fair?

Games as with as many bugs as DA:I shouldn't even be nominated.

If that was the case there wouldn't be any games nominated this year. It's been abysmal for quality control across the board.

Hardly anyone has had the chance to play it. No time for the hype to calm down. No time for replayability worth to kick in. It just baffles me why they chose DA:I other than maybe the electors had a bias for being pro bioware.

Are you kidding? DA:I is the buggiest and most unpolished AAA game released this year.

That's a matter of opinion. And my opinion is that the Neverwinter Nights original campaign is awful. Bland, repetitive plot, filled with characters that were either boring or unlikeable (or both!) not enhanced by a terrible UI and only one 'henchman' you had no control over rather than an actual party.

The expansions are a lot better, and I gather that people liked the tool set and multiplayer elements, but the original campaign was easily the worst thing BioWare has ever made in my opinion.

(The way some people feel about DA2? Yeah, that's me and the NWN OC.)

You haven't played Assassin's Creed: Unity, have you?

The judges judge it on its own merits. Where does the player factor in?

What about unpopular songs that are rarely heard by anyone. Should they never receive recognition?

The judges are indifferent to the hype. You are claiming bias when there is none. Otherwise, this argument can be used against the other games. What if a judge hates EA?

One can consider replayability an objective fact, given that there are many origins, many choices, and many paths. Perhaps each judge played the game in a different way and each offered their opinion on the matter.

So all in all, you know nothing on how the reward was picked, yet refuse to acknowledge the result.

You may dislike the game as much as you wish, but how can you be baffled when you have no insight?

Give me a break. I've enjoyed the last two games, DA 2 less so because of the lazy copy and paste areas, and I do enjoy some aspects of this third outing. Don't mistake my criticism for blind hatred.

Okay, I stand corrected. DA:I is the buggiest and most unpolished AAA game released this year AFTER Unity.

That's insane. Vanilla NWN was pure garbage. There were essentially no party members, you could only control one character, there wasn't a functional companion AI, old features from BG2 didn't exist
..

The idea that NWN was even an OK game is ridiculous.

I think it's a well deserved honor.  This game is a really amazing accomplishment of video gaming and storytelling.  It's complexity  led to some bugginess, and I will continue to quibble about them and demand patches.

And the skyhold pajamas are still a fashion tragedy, but won't stop me from playing this game over and over. :)

Congrats Bioware.

I am a hardly a sheep that will just trust a so called "expert opinion" when from recent events we've seen time and time again that "critics" are biased including Keighly. At the end of the day we're not given a reasonable reason as to why DA:I was picked. And then you jump to the conclusion that I didn't like DA:I.

The game is full of game breaking bugs, you should read the sob stories that some people are writing on the forums.
