Cassandra and Varric were the highlight of the show.
Buy his book, damn it
Congratulations.
Now please fix the PC version, the rogues, mage passives, some warrior abilities and male elfs....
That would make me very happy...
Don't post a lot here. Just wanted to say I saw this and think it's well deserved. Bioware made an amazing game that I'm so glad I get to play.
Thanks for the amazing of experience.
Oh I'm not naysaying it at all. Just putting out my personal perspective on the award itself. Frankly if earning it gets the employees nice little bonuses for their work and earns them a better chance at DLC then I'm more than happy. I just - personally - feel as if the award itself has lost a little meaning these days as literally there's dozens of publications that give out awards by that title. So you can have quite a few 'game of the year' editions for a single year, all from different award shows.
I think the VGAs are a little more prestigious than other websites that started to bestow the same awards recently. All in all, this lets Bioware/EA know that if they do an RPG right it will be well received. They didn't repeat any of the major mistakes of ME3 such as auto dialogue, choices with no consequences, and shallow character relationships among other things. This just has me excited about the future of DA, DLC and the next titular entry.
Congratulations, Bioware!

You make several good points and overall I agree with you. I guess I was just being overly cynical.
Congratulations to the team and to Bioware I'm sure it feels good to have their efforts rewarded.
Well earned. This is my favorite bioware game ever, and they've made many games I loved. This game is amazing and I'm glad to see it recognized!
Too bad GOTY award shows for video games mean nothing in the end.
Still, good job for winning, BioWare. Of the choices, it was the best one in the end.

It's all good. You can even look to the twitter thread and see the reactions of the devs to get an idea of how excited they are about this.
Even with its light competition, it earned it.

Comes with the territory.
Big gratz to the development team!

Excellent idea.
So happy for Bioware! Hopefully this means a positive future for the games.
Ooh, nice! Haven't finished the game but it definitely looks well deserved! I heard there was a cool Varric and Cass vid in the nomination, is it up anywhere?

True but it's something they can stick on advertisements and that.

Don't worry, Bioware hasn't finished the game yet either...

Didn't deserve it to be honest. This game was a big let down.

I'm so happy for them. I think it's well deserved. I've really been enjoying the game.
If anyone missed the bit with Cass and Varric, you can see it here.

I'd buy the **** out of a real world copy of Hard in Hightown or even Swords and Shields, the later preferably with annotations from both Varric and Cassandra for added hilarity.
Congratulations, Bioware. ![]()
I SO PREDICTED THIS
