I personally would love a red power rangers unite moment, where my HoF, Hawke, and Inquisitor team up for a mission.

Like going with them on a quest to find the way to cure the Calling? :) That is what I would like to see in a DLC. Especially if they were a temporary companions. All the possible banter and dialogues... Ok, time to stop dreaming.

Well, one option they could do is have it so somehow between Origins and the game they show up in the Warden lost their ability of speech.

Or they could bring back the HoF for the 6th blight, where he has to save his friends and family. Where everyoje discovers it is the last as there are 2 old gods invading, one of them being mythal (we obviously know she is; The Elven Pantheon is way too similar to the old gods

I think the next dlc/game would have mythal awaken the last old god (it is so bait she is an old god because of the Elven Pantheon Being too similar to old gods, you know...7 of them and sealed away etc.), the HoF would feel it in a vision and immediately investigates. He is attacked outnumbered while trying to stop Mythal, so he begins a journey to find his friends and his LI (in my case Morrigan) and possibly Kieran joining as a companion (if time skip is more or less 10 years).
In the final showdown, HoF somehow kills the archdemon (not Mythal), and he is not killed (possibly because he killed an Archdemon before, and survived). Then he faces Mythal and kills her, in a huge and awesome and LEGENDARY battle. Then we see HoF's Epilogue, with some badass ending (and if they were to kill the Morrigan with DR epilogue i would go on a killing spree.)

Sorry for double post. I didnt know how to edit my previous

Doesn't change the fact that their story is done.

No, this is a fallacy. that's one phase of the wardens life not the entirety of it.

Does it surprise anyone that they would F this up after dragon age 2?

That's really all I can say. We can debate gameplay about the warden but what's done is done at this point. They chose to keep him out of the game, who knows why, they're not exactly brilliant game designers here after the origins director left.

I've been wanting to play my warden again since origins but that isn't going to happen because they don't have the intelligence required to see that an actual SEQUEL to origins is what dragon age fans actually want instead of their bad ripoff knockoffs.

Whatever. At least we can always replay origins.

If the Hero of Ferelden is somewhere far west then maybe we'll get to see Kal Sharok and its dwarves. If your Grey Warden is a dwarf that will be loads of fun. Mine is an Amell but I think Bioware could create some interesting plots with that.

They could. It'd also be kinda fun to see a minor conversation between The Warden and Corypheus. but to be honest i'd rather wait till Dragon age 4, cause if he does make a comeback i want my complete Warden and that's impossible in DAI. Spirit, Entropy, Blood Mage, Arcane Warrior and Keeper. entropy and keeper are completely gone and spirit is kinda fragmented. arcane warrior and knight-enchanter should be considered different.

I still dread that Bioware will use their six slot talent system for the next game. If so my Grey Warden will be seriously diminished. Would we even get back the items we acquired and crafted in Origins? I spent a lot of time getting those things made. I don't want my Grey Warden wearing standard issue protection.

Which it isnt :)

There story IS over. Sure, there's going to be more to their life, but their main story is over: stopping the Fifth Blight, ending the civil war, and defeating the Architect and/or Mother.
BioWare has said this on several occasions.

Well we already have the male voice actor for hero of ferelden. Bioware just needs to use the voice actor from the dragon age origins trailers the calling and the temple of sacred ashes trailer. The voice actor sounded epic in those trailers.

I like this idea *thumbs up*

But when asked if he will ever make a comeback in some way, they didn't say no IIRC.

I have no expectation that they would return to the Warden as a playable character, that said, the voice issue is a non-issue.

If the choice was You Never Play Him/Her again, OR he/she is back, but they sound like Meatwad, I'd take Meatwad Cousland every time and not issue one complaint.

Correct, but I'm arguing why we shouldn't be able to PLAY as the Warden again, not that we shouldn't be able to see them again.

I think it's a safe assumption that if, by some fluke of the universe, we were able to play as the Warden again, nothing you ever crafted will exist, because it's impossible to implement these things. Heck almost nothing you do beyond the fate of Vigil's Keep, the City of Amaranthine and the Architect and whatever are even flagged in the Keep.

As for skills, forget about it. Even if some of the familiar names made it through, they're not going to function as you remember them.

The Warden is really only interesting and truely useful as a weapon versus the blit. Other than that they are just generic warriors. I don't see that character being more interesting in any future role than any other character would be and in fact I'd think he could be less interesting in most cases.

Plus, you'd have to do some sort of ME2 type burn him down and start over or else I need my high level Warden blowing away Mages with Mana Clash from the word go.

Hawke as well, but both him and Warden are better written characters than the bland Inquisitor :)

Yeah, I believe they said they have no plans for him to be a playable character ever again. As a temporary party member would be enough I guess.

And i'm saying we aren't gonna actually know that until the series comes to an end. the developers could change their mind at the drop of a hat or they are misleading or the Warden is done. I'm not a dev and as far as i know neither are you, so we don't actually know.

their are reasons some want the warden back.

1. The warden has become the embodiment of everything they loved about DA:O and his return would signal the return of that aspect of the series.

2. the companions. returning to the warden (with all the choices you've made in DA:O) after playing as Hawke and the Inquisitor, there is an appeal to that. a continuation to what you've build in Origins. The relationships the warden has made, the Romance path you went down, dealing with repercussions etc.

And of course having Morrigan as a companion again, ah the utter joy.

That's what I'm afraid of. What's the point of bringing them back as playable characters if we have to start over on building them? I don't like the standard blue armor of the Wardens. The Origins armor and weapons were more fun to assemble and they allowed up to three three rune enchantments.

I don't particularly miss the Warden, and I've had so many of them that I kind of lost track of their "personalities" at this point. Even so, I'd be curious to see what it would be like if s/he did return, even if her only line was "Shall I get you a ladder so you can get off my back?" before riding off into the sunset.

They can't change their mind. That would mean having another game where we play as the Warden, and each DA game is supposed to be centered around a new main protagonist. They can't change that decision at this point in the game.

Hell they can't. they've already made multiple changes to the series and lore that are far, far worse then reusing a protagonist.

Bioware are going have this issue with every new game as each new game means new protagonist that means players who have played all three current releases when  "Dragon Age 4" releases will result in some players  wondering what is happening to their previous protagonists (Warden, Hawke and The Inquisitor). It is an issue they they will have to deal with due to them wanting to continue the same story with each release but new set of characters in each game.

if they do voice the Hero of Ferelden, they could give them Jennifer Hale for female and Mark Meer for male as it would be slightly cool and amusing if they had the voices of Shepard in the game and it might nullify criticism of the voice choice a bit. Only a suggestion **I know both actors already voice characters in the games but they can do one more.
