As said in the title, i will first start off with my passives and abilities in order starting with Mentalism.

Mentalism:

Defending Blade (deflect projectiles with spirit blade)a

Fade Shield (Barrier generation from damage)

Guardian Spirit (Gives full barrier instead of taking a deathblow)

Combat Clarity (Mana generation when near enemies)

Elemental:

Arcing Surge (Chain Lightning will go to more enemies and goes further)

Rejuvenating Barrier (Gain Mana when barrier is active)

Disturbance of Spirit (5% chance to weaken enemies on hit for 6 seconds)

Twisting Veil (15% Bonus Damage against weakened Enemies, highly recommended for perilous)

Smothering Veil (Weakened Enemies do 30% less damage, highly recommended for perilous)

Encircling Veil (25% Bonus Damage against weakened enemies)

Ability - Stonefist (500% Weapon damage)

Shatterstone (Passive for stonefist, does AoE damage and now weakens enemies, highly recommended)

Restorative Veil (Gain mana based on how much damage done again weakened enemies)

Static Charge (Enemies that attack you while using a spell like Chain Lightning will paralyze them)

(Optional) Stormbringer (Random lightning periodically strikes a nearby enemy)

Ability - Pull of the Abyss (Makes a tiny rift that sucks things into it within 6 meters)

Shaken Veil (Passive for Pull of the Abyss, reduces cooldown reduction for ability and now enemies pulled in are weakened)

If you follow this tree without taking Stormbringer, you should have atleast 3 extra points i think you can spend on anything, i got Force of Will (20 Armor Bonus) but i was still able to manage to solo without it.

Strategy

I use the abilities pull of the abyss, chain lightning, spirit blade, and stonefist.

For every group of enemies i encounter, i use Pull of the Abyss to suck up everyone in a small area, then i use Stonefist which depending on how many enemies there are, i usually get a full barrier. Then i run up and spam spirit blade until they're dead and sometimes use stonefist during combat to weaken them for extra bonus damage. They key is to keep your barrier up 24/7. If they're are ranged enemies (Archers, horrors, knights, wraiths,) I just use chain lightning to damage them at a distance and to keep my barrier up while im charging at them. Say if i come into a wide area with a mixture of archers and melee, i like to shoot my staff, go around the corner so that way enemies are forced to chase me around the corner. I then use pull of the abyss to suck up everyone again, stonefist for barrier, and spirit blade.

Some Side Notes

If you are facing red templars, i go for shadows first because they can REALLY screw over your barrier and make you die almost instantly, so stay alert. Venatori Stalkers aren't a big deal though.

Also i'm not sure if its a passive or something but my stonefist makes enemies go asleep sometimes, and when they are i go up and use spirit blade and i can seriously put some damage, if this happens for you, use it on Red Templar Commander to interrupt his whirlwind attacks/Kobi Brian Lunges (hes not immune to sleep).

I have no tips for the Demon commander honestly xD. If im facing demons, i usually get screwed over by the demon commander but hey atleast you got some gold on the way.

Before opening treasure rooms, make sure to clear out enemies first because after you pull a group some zealots or wraiths from the next group will come attack, so make sure you clear them out first. You never know when the treasure chest room is filled with spiders or more enemies, so be careful.

If you guys have any other build/strategy, lemme know and i'll try it out. This strategy works for me and my gear is ok i guess.

My staff - Ilvl 20 Unique, 146 dps

Belt gives 200 maximum hp

Ring that gives 20% extra crit damage

Ring that has 10% bleed on hit

Amulet with 5% cooldown reduction.

If you wanna play some DAI with me, my gamertag is A Lvl 90 Wizard

Not doubting your skill/build/anything, but these here probably help immensely.

Its hard but since i get demons all the time, i make it to the commander but then die lol. Like i said theres no other option to do when you fight demon commander head-to-head. I've completed it twice with red templars though.

AFAIK bleed is a bugged stat and does nothing so if you have basically any other ring that will do something you may want to use it.

When fighting the demon commander, mobility is key. Even if you have to fight for an hour, as long as you stay mobile, you should, normally anyway, be fine. I'm not really bothered by his scream that fears you or whatever that debuff is, I can never remember, unless there's other mobs there to take you out.

Wouldn't it be easier for AW to face the daemon faction? I mean daemons don't block your Spirit Blade, whereas, the other two factions do.

For demon commander grab fade step or fade cloak...both of those will fill you barrier also.  I find fade cloak works best against the demon commander, but fade step has more utility overall.  I'd swap stonefist out for one of these.

Not really if you ask me.

For one the ring have a very limited use if any. More crit dmg is nice - if you have high crit chance. If not its usless. Any other ring ( even white ) will be of more use.

If this is the staff i think - its a staff whit the walking fortress proc - and no crit chance modifier.

Amulet of cooldown reduction 5% is nothing really.

So outside of the staff his gear is mostly avarage in every way. If he can solo highest difficulty whit this gear and build - its defenetly down to stratagey and player skill.

Now if that was ring whit +30% dmg on chainlightning, +10% heal on a kill, belt whit 20% magic resistance, Neckless whit +50 mana or 10 constitution - then yes its not the build but the gear.

OP. Its wierd build that i havent used or even considered. I normaly run the preaty normal - Chainlightning, fade step, fade cloak, blade - and aligned passives. So i will defenetly give it a go when i return home from work.

Thanks for sharing.

Yes, demons are easier to face for the AW, but its just the demon commander itself. I'll try swapping stonefist out with fade cloak like Silent fear said, and yes it is the walking fortress staff.
