Ok, so the title was to draw some attention, but i seriously want honest feedback...

i LOVE the ME trilogy, and the DA games aren't bad... but i have spent 20 hours + playing the DAI MP and have found it wanting in almost every aspect.  The characters do not even come close to being equal, the maps are too few, there are far far far too many cheap shots by enemies you literally cannot see, the lag has been very bad in my experience...

what am i missing?  you can hate on me if you want to, but i am honestly not trying to bash on this game w/o reason.  i like the MP a bit, but it just seriously seems like such a half-arsed attempt that I don't even know what to think besides bringing my rating of the entire game down a star...

How many threads have you posted these negative feelings in? BWE wants to know.

Yes there are worse mp coop games. I've not bought or played them but I'm thinking indie games?

This game is fun, glitches aside. If they are addressed the game would be really fun & playable long term.

Lots.

Call of Doody sorry to say is a terrible multi player experience these days (rotten to the core community).

Most "Free to play" MMOs that are really pay to win.

Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Online

FEAR Online

League of Trolls.(awful online community, probably the worst of the worst, and yes it heavily affects game play)

Dota 2 (see league of trolls)

AC Unity. Stinking pile of awful.

Is there some sort of lag problem on PC? I keep hearing people complain about the lag yet I have yet to experience anything of the sort for my 100+ hours...

My lag is showing up in the form of input lag or any collision with players or objects. For instance single player feels pretty good, the clunkiness gets turned up in multiplayer. Running into a player can cause you to run in circles, targeted abilities take a second to ramp up, and countering can be difficult if you're trying to time it nicely. Other than that I've had pretty good connections.

I actually feel like this multiplayer is, even with only 3 maps, very fun, I don't mind replaying them even with endless character resests mainly because of the variety of the characters to choose from. That being said...very unsatisfying loot system, a decent amount of connection issues and bugs that force you to close the client and lose 20 minutes worth of work are frequent and frustrating. I personally am riding it out unil the first update, if it looks like Bioware is putting some effort into addressing the glaring issues I'll ride it out as I said the game itself is enjoyable, but as things stand right now it would not take much for me to pick something else up and file this game away as a good idea, poor execution.

OP, your tech probs could be from joining a game hosted by someone playing on a poor computer or a computer with poor connections.  If you have a decent computer and internet connection, host your own game and see if your performance problems abate.

Regarding the number of maps... ME3 suffered from the same thing early. Give them time, there will be DLC's with more maps and maybe more classes... most likely for free.

Thanks for the responses guys.  I didn't even consider AC:U haha.  Maybe I was being a bit hyperbolic, and for that I do apologize.  But, the lag really is an issue for me.  I am not going to say that I have the best internet out there, but I have almost zero lag issues with Diablo III and GTA online (the tiny bit of that i've played anyway).

Anyway, I have played several more hours since I posted this last night and I think my opinion has increased a bit.  I found that the legionnaire suffers less from lag than the archer, so I think that is a route I'll go for a while.  Cheers!

100% this.

At launch, ME3MP had 6 maps and 4 ("3" if you consider the male and female humans were identical) options for each class. (Turian and Krogan for Soldier/Sentinel, Quarian and Salarian for Engineer/Infiltrator, and Drell/Asari for Adept/Vanguard. And of course, humans.)

Just look at it now. So many more classes. We have 4 playable Geth, 3 more playable Quarians and Krogans, than before. We even have 4 playable Volus characters, 7 more humans, 3 more asari, 4 new Turians, 1 of which is female, an AI, 4 playable Batarians, you get the idea.

And as for the maps... not only are there "Hazard" versions of the first 6 maps with environmental dangers like acid rain that eats your shields/barriers, or death swarms that damage any player caught in their path, but there's also entirely new maps as well. Three of which are actually on earth, the rest of which take place on other planets, like Sur'kesh and Thessia.

So much was added that I've clocked over 600 hours over 2 years. I wouldn't have lasted 50 at launch.

Give DAI Multiplayer some time to grow and evolve before you pass judgment.

Those two are not co op mp games, they are competitive mp games. And they both function and run as intended. No glitches, minimal lag, no broken RNG etc.

Edit: Actually most of that list are not co operative MP games, and most of them are working as intended.

Destiny has some awful multiplayer.  No voice chat, classes are unbalanced, no vote to kick feature.  I know the last one sounds awkward to bring up, but a big problem with Destiny's multiplayer is you'll have people go AFK in a corner and contribute absolutely nothing to the group and end up getting awesome gear at the end; and you cannot kick the person out of the group.  At least with DAI you can vote to kick a person that's being annoying or just trolling.

is DAMP a step back from Mass Effect's.  Not as good.  And borderline disappointing?  Yes, yes it is.

Is it "Bad"? no.

it could be worse.  I admit I expected it to be a lot like Mass Effects, but better and there are some improvements over Mass Effect, but I am disappointed.  And the fact that AGAIN we have the max item bug where we still get that item we are maxed out just really sets the tone for this MP.

I play it and enjoy it.  Its not what I was looking for though and its not a step forward.

Tom Clancys Ghost Recon Online

.

1) GRO is PvP, not co-op. (As are other games you listed)

2) GRO is actually pretty amazing, ESPECIALLY for a f2p game.

You've clearly never played it.

*Eye roll* Yes I have and it's the most Pay to Win Team vs Team Shooter on the entire Market, played it for about 6 Hours, laughed at the Limited time unlocks on guns, laughed harder when I checked the permanent unlock pricing for free currency and uninstalled.

The reason I included them is because even if they are "Competitive" you also have to play cooperatively with your team to win.

I also support a game if it's worth supporting, Ghost Recon absolutely wasn't

Edit: Also several of those games have a coop vs A.I mode so it's not misinformation.

Didn't the ME Coop also start with three maps? I am guessing it will all build itself out, slowly over time, just like the ME version. And well, the maps are slightly randomized, so 3 for starters is not too bad.

I think the main problem for most people is, is that this game is way more team-based than the ME Coop was. And of course there are bugs and connection issues, but an online 3D action RPG (which the coop is, not the singleplayer ofc), is a lot harder to fine tune in terms of connection and hitbox issues than a shooter or a more or less top-down dungeon crawler. And well, the crafting and looting system isn't really logical and optimal at the moment, but it holds a lot of promise.

Also, do you maybe live at a remote place or do you have unstable internet? Because I do notice a bit of lag once in a while, but it's nothing close to game-breaking for me. (the running in circles thing is quite annoying though :P)

History off non-constructive posts. If you don't like a game, discuss why outside of it's official board. Although this user didn't make personal attacks, this post amounts to heckling and it still inappropriate.
