I'm trying to find the song that plays toward the beginning of the game when you wake up in Haven. When you explore the town. It plays as a background music throughout the game as well, but it wasn't included in the soundtrack I got for buying the deluxe edition. What is that song called? Why isn't it in the soundtrack?

That... is a good question. I would also like to know.
My guess would be that, if it IS on the soundtrack, it would be one movement in a longer track. In practice though, I loved Wesley's death music in DA2 and that wasn't on the soundtrack at allllll. Only way to hear it without the game was to extract and convert the file.

I actually have that melody as MP3 and on video (4+ minutes) but I have hesitated to upload it to my channel after hearing how eagerly they hand over bans these days. I had to record it straight from the game and run through Sony Vegas due to the fact that it indeed isn't on the soundtrack. I don't know the name either.

On a slightly related note, has anyone managed to find the full orchestral version of Samson's Tale? It's the music that plays in the cutscene where Scout Harding finds Mother Giselle, and sometimes during exploration. (At least I think it's an orchestral version of that song, but I know nothing about music)

They're not, but some people have uploaded them on Youtube. As to why they're not on the OST, no idea.

I've watched 3 videos now at the beginning of Haven, and it seems it does play the same song in all of them. Is it "The Western Approach" you're looking for??

I wonder at some of the choices for the soundtrack. There are loads of incidentals and short cutscene tunes, but none of the more epic sounding battle music like the latter part of Haven or the Dragon fights.

That is correct. It's just too bad that the soundtrack version has been turned into... ah... should I say arabic style, instead of the plain version playing in Haven. The plain is the one I'm listening, the one I took straight from the game.
