Character Creation is disappointing

Trying to create a character for straight 10 hours now on my PS4.
Where to start?
Hairstyles? You must be joking... Same Hairstyles for female and male chars??
Insufficient number of diffrent hairstyles.
Hair colors? Same Problem. Black is mor like grey. Blond looks like a plastic yellow. And the Eyebrows? Another way of joking in my oppinion.
Gloss effect on lips: yeah if someone needs a mirror, here are my lips, feel free to take a look at yourself.
No choices for height or thickness.
Complexion? Hahhaha
Not to mention the headshape in general.
Everytime i managed to get a female human that does not want to make me cry out of desperation i start the game and whooop: ingame my char looks totally different.
I am frustrated of da i at this point. Saw the starting scene about 20 times now and i am sick of it.
Take a look at dragons dogma if you need any inspiration..
This is my opinion and im not interested in discussing anybodys beauty ideals. My first rpg was Baldurs Gate. Over many years i have never had such problems creating a character.

Eh, I rather liked the CC...well at least for the most part.
The hairs were definitely lacking though and I agree with the hair colours as well....it's really odd there weren't more colours, especially a black option, I'm curious as to what the reasoning behind it was. I thought the complexions were okay, they for me at least, were just too hard to tell apart at times with the supplied lighting. I've seen some really nice characters though, I think it's one of things you need a bit of a flair for, which is a little frustrating.
But the hair...yes the hair needs a lot of work. I think a lot of us are hoping for some eventual extra hair options down the road.

Give me Cassandra's hair and eyebrows please. Thank you.

Her eyebrows are perfect, right? How come it's possible for Cassandra to have such beautiful eyebrows while the ones in the CC are so... ugh.
But otherwise the CC is fine... I'm extremely fond of my elven mage quizzy (even if she can't pluck her eyebrows properly) ![]()

The hair is the only real problem for me for the head… build would be nice too, but I suppose not essential.
The drastic difference between the in-game and CC/cutscene lighting (and then only some cutscenes) is a big problem, though. Many faces look completely different in much of the in-game lighting—be it that you’re usually not looking at their face.

Hair is the issue. There are 13 bald looks and then the rest of the actual hair styles range from ugly to full on WTF. This appears to be a persistent Bioware issue across games so maybe they need to like hire a hairstyle designer.
The hairstyles are actually getting worse, that's worrying.

I had hoped that with the new Frostbite engine and plenty of other games improving the look of hair in their characters that BW would follow suit. I'm sick of seeing every character with 1 of 3 hairstyles.
Thats really my only grip with character customization. The iris thing is neat, but I think people wanted greater changes than affecting their inner eye...

You lost height and thickness for multiple races. The problem with them looking different is due to the lighting

We should be able to change your character in the game, and "save" as a favorite so you have it ready in case of a new game.

In a nutshell, the hair and face changing cut scenes are wanting.
I can't come up with a reason why human hair styles are so limited in this game. I mean, how many buzz cuts do you need?

The CC is way better than previous games, with way more options, except when it comes to hair.
I'd like a way to save your favorite face though.

Better, but also more prone to error. VERY prone, in fact. And without that save feature, "better" is another word for crap.

The unremovable eye shadow on one of the elven female presets was rather annoying ![]()

Ahh... but will it work?
BW mentioned clipping problems with long hair styles...

It's sad that I was making a black inquisitor with short curly hair so the hairstyles were awesome...I can understand how they would suck for any other type of hair though.

I suggest you directly ask your question in the specific topic, the modders are kind.

Most of the eyebrows are absolutely atrocious. Where are the healthy arched powerbrows of ladies?
If they aren't pencil thin, then they make the char look perpeually puzzled. Eyebrows do so much for a face I wish they'd get some attention. And I HATE lip liner. Its way too easy to make Heralds with drawn on eyebrows and obscene lipliner in this game.
Can we please get some lables for different presets too? I don't understand why people don't do this. Simple 'Nose 1' 'Nose 2' makes it so much easier to scrub between and remember which ones you like.

I tried making a female character earlier today and I agree...in one of the weirdest events in history I think this character creator is best at creating African American looking men.
That's the favorite character I've made so far even tho the picture isn't that well lit. The short hair doesn't look half bad at least...

I dont need to reuse the things said over so i kinda have a suggestion for a race in CC:
Okay, there is one BIG thing i would love to see in dragon age race selection in CC. I want to see DROWS, since Baldurs Gate i always wanted to play A DROW
with the color pallets in the old games, yes i could write that i am a drow, but i would love to see dragon age just make a bad ass expenansion where the drows
and the darkspawns are allies since basicly a drow can become a aberation or become Loth the spider queen.
But oh wells a person can dream.

As lovely as it looks, it does nothing for me since I play on PS4, lol. I'm desperately hoping for an aesthetics DLC, with more hair options as well as casual/ball outfit choices.
We just need more braids and feminine hairstyles in general... as well as brows. All but like 3 are horrendous and I can't believe they expected people to use some of them?
