The developers darn well need to be criticized after openly lying to, and misleading their faithful fans, in fact a apology is in order.

Plenty of valid criticism there, OP. You'll have to excuse the Defence Force, they can't handle the fact that the game has significant problems. The game does get better if you have the patience to get used to the amateurish interface.

I have to ask, what do you gain from constant bashing? Does it make you feel better?

Ugh that interface is hideous, and a complete joke to use, as soon as I seen it my lazygamesenses went off.

Oh no, it's not that people are ignoring the significant problems. It's the fact that some people keep making threads singularly to announce that they are quitting and it's almost always in the same manner as oppose to adding their feedback or criticisms to an already existing thread on the subject.

Does bitching sustain you or something?

They owe you nothing. They've already apologized enough. Get a refund and move on with your life already if you're that bitter.

i seriously wish ME3 never rolled out the EC. Started this trend where consumers think they are owed something other than entertainment that was delivered, especially to its supposedly faithful fans.

But omg I can't have long hair or use my right key to click. Omg Biower fix dis u owe me.

amen

To be even remotely fair to the OP...

1)  The character creation is ok in regards to facial changes.  It isn't fab or anything due to lack of hair (serious!) but its better than many games.

2)  That one cut scene straight after character creation where you are climing up the hill towards the green glowy figure (no spoiler) is just HORRIBLE. I have never made a character, no matter how pretty/handsome in the CC that didn't look like an escaping ape. No really, create a character and look at the face and posture, it is an ape, escaping.  Its pretty bad.  Apes the world over are likely just as alarmed.  Poor apes.

3) The lighting, in general in the game, is not good (for character lighting. some environments minus character focus is lovely!). Some cutscenes are great, but general game lighting is questionable.  It is almost like they just added a skylight set to midday and left it alone without much to a) tone down the harsh shadows and B) add secondary lighting sources to better simulate bounce and just in general create a nicer character light within a realistic environment light.  Lighting well is very hard to do really well, I grant you that, but this makes your character in general look much different than in the CC.  Especially with makeup options, the render in game is often quite different.   Sometimes it is quite garish.

These points, while I feel they are justified do not = a bad game (to me at least).  Bad implementation of aspects OF the game, sure, but I still am glad I finally gave my character a chance and eventually grew to appreciate her look also.  Would I change anything, sure! of course!  This is why I wish there was a modding platform, but still, it isn't a bad game.    I'm quite enjoying it actually.

And just as a general comment:  some of your points were indeed based in reasonable validity.  I think the "played an hour, quit. Bad game" kind of just reduced valid feedback to appear like bashing and call the Knights of BioWare to arms.   :)  I personally think the game turned out pretty darn well, compared to DA2.  I have an entire wishlist of things I wish were different, but I am glad I gave the game a chance past the opening.

I actually feel a bit sorry for those that do not play the game. It is by far one of the best games I have ever played. (I have played many many games in my 30 years of gaming.)

Ladies and gentlefolk, let's try and keep antagonising each other to a minimum...

Anyway, to the OP - I suggest trying it for more than an hour before dismissing it. The game doesn't even really begin until beyond the hour mark. Plus, we were never promised save importing - they have ALWAYS said that it won't be a feature and that they had an alternative solution in the works: The Keep.

The CC does have it's problems due to the lighting in it, but this can be pretty easily accounted for once you are aware of this fact... and as for the interface, I don't really quite understand what your issue with it is? How exactly is everything a chore? And whilst on that theme, how exactly is the combat "an offence against" gaming?

You're getting a lot of angry replies because you haven't explained your thoughts coherently - i.e. with an explanation as to why you feel the way you do. Without that vital bit of info, it simply comes across as baiting, even if that wasn't your intention.

Well, the OP'd probably get his legitimate points across a bit better if he didn't tell so many whoppers himself.

I guess that stuff's supposed to be hyperbole. The problem with using that technique on this board is that so many of the substantive positions here are crazy that you can't tell which posts aren't supposed to taken literally.

I spent more than an hour in the character creator alone. If you don't like messing with the CC, just play with a preset head.

I like the game very much. It has its shortcomings (combat tac cam on PC is disappointing) but the good points outweigh the bad in my opinion. The graphics, sound design, music, voice acting, characters and main quests are really well done. The MMO style exploration and fetch quests can be a drag, but they aren't necessary.  Fast travel and skip picking up the bits of stuff.

Might as well leave some feedback FWIW.

I loved DA:O & DA2 (slightly less). I am a fan of all 3 ME games.

I pre-orderd this and have been looking forward to having a free day to play it. Now I doubt I will be doing so again.

It started badly - after all the promises there is no way to import past save games although if you are willing to take the time to wade through an abysmally poorly designed we site you can sort of recreate the choices you made if you don't resetn the fact that evern after the ME3 debacle they still haven't grasped the vbalue we put on the journey and the shape of the world our choices leave behind us. The only suicess is that it sets a new bar for future failure.

Then I got into the game itself - on the upside I encouhtered no bugs.

On the downsides:

- Character creation was a terrible interface and those stupid colour palette things never work properly.

- The character I spent some small time crafting did not remotely resemble the waxwork zombie-like monstrosity I was then supposed to play (and bear in mind I'm running at ultra graphics here).

- The movement and combat system, are an offemce against gaming that should lead to the designers being expelled from the industry for their sake and the sake of gaming itself.

- The simple act of trying to pick up and object or focus on a target in combat fgelt like a massive chore.

In short there was nothing in this game that felt 'fun', no acknowledgement that it was part 3 in a series and no feeling that this game was made in 2014 rather than 1984. Even the graphics which clearly were using up to date tech turned out looking ugly.

I truly hope other people are actually feeling like they made a good purchase and have fun but I am done with DA3 and done with Bioware.

Yet this monstrosity just won The VGA GOTY and RPG of the year go figure.

I agree with one of your points.

Look, I'm not a fan of these console games either, but I don't think complete abandonment is warranted for this game after one hour. Elder Scrolls Online was far worse than this.

You'll be back to take another kick at the can.

I think there are only 2 games I've ever purchased in my life and tossed in the garbage after one hour. Never to touch them again.

Empire: Total War & Majesty 2.

Everything else got a fair review. Even if they were as bad as Civilization: Beyond Earth, Omerta: City of Gangsters or Rome II, I still forced myself to give them a fair chunk of time before using them as kindling to start a fire.

Thanks for taking the time to tell this - why exactly?

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the game (honestly). Can't say the same for myself - and I've also encountered my fair share of bugs and "why, oh why would they go this route" moments. Regardless, I do feel I made a good purchase and am looking forward to the next few replays: one mage Inquisitor run in progress, but there's tons of choices and options still to go :)

While ME3 had objectively failed in many core areas of the game , thus the critiscicm and forum flaming was  justified all the bashing/negative posts about DAI 3 I've seen have the same pattern:

1)relatively to non existent  issue 1

2)non-existent issue 2

3)1 and 2 are used as arguments to reach to a conclusion of gamebreaking experience done playing it go to hell bioware etc.

After so many of these threads I'm starting to believe that bioware had struck a nerve or two in the industry with this game.

As I said in another topic if these people don't exist in a rival's company payroll they are literally wasting their talents.

I hope it gave you some pleasure typing that out OP.

It's a shame that Dragon Age (GOTY) Inquisition is not for you.

This is what a mid-1980's game looks like by the way (I used to play them):

I'm nearly finished my third playthrough and enjoyed every hour I played. Yes I've had a few bugs I've encountered, but that won't take away the enjoyment I've had so far from this game.

my understanding (clearly mistaken) was that DA3 would import choices to some extent (and maybe I am just not finding the option but if it is there such a key option shouldn't need to be dug out).

Oh for god's sake. From your first post, you clearly know that the Keep exists. If it's such a big deal to you, suck it up and log into the keep to enter your choices like everyone else. You don't get to complain that the game doesn't let you import choices when it does and you already know exactly how to do it.

There is games I didn't even finish the tutorial.

Im happy that I took my time before even considering to buy the game, I did check all the videos possible, spoilers included. The narrative part is great, the story in itself nothing special but the way its told its awesome. The game at its core its a offline MMO not a RPG. Im very sure that there is some EA that forced them to use Frostbite3 and dictate the game play based on market numbers. So the result is a game that has finally nothing to do with BioWare, I should say what is supposed or was BioWare. Never understood the fact they moved under EAs banner, since NFS Most Wanted Black Edition, all EA does is buy all the good franchises and turn them to crap. 2014 was not a good year for games, I was very excited that big titles were coming back and new ones were popping, and all turned out to be not worth the money or just the time to try them, just like DAI is, not worth it.

Some like DAI for different parts and but not as a whole, DAO was indeed celebrated for the game itself even with problems it had.

I did work for a big public corporation that is selling medical devices, let me tell that the big picture is not pretty, seen first hand how it works at the top. Better eat and live healthy because once at the hospital you might not get what you need. EA is no different. Six Sigma business model which gave birth to the micro management term, a camera for each employee.

Analyse the game as a whole not just the parts you like, the end picture is very thin sadly. The corporate influence shows.

for those interested that want to know more about Six Sigma, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Sigma
That is EA Business Model

There's a feedback section in the forums--why don't people give their feedback there instead of in these sections?
