I seem to have turned Leliana into a ruthless hardcase. In the mission where you go looking for Justinia's hidden message, she killed the spy without hesitating. I reloaded and tried different dialogue options to make her stop, but to no avail.

How did this happen? It's an awesome turn of events from the character development point of view, but I think I liked the happy Leli better.

Did you play origins ? she was always a nutjob from the moment you met her, i dont know why fans delude themselves with the notion she is good and pure, she is naive not inoocent, the moment you met her, she bathes herself in the blood of ferelden soldiers alied to loghain to arrest your warden,and calmly explain to you why she should join forces becouse she had a vision.......i was like......okay ms coocko just pont the sharp thing away from me.

I didn't even realise you could harden her, I thought that no matter what she did her own thing.  I guess I lucked out then as I think I softened her.  I just kept going, NO LEL!  You can not just murder everyone!  I didn't like that more heartless and...deranged side of her, so I'm glad I at least got the softer side of her for when she became the Divine.

I ended up with a "softened" Leliana and managed to stop her from killing that person on her personal quest - whew. I usually go for the mercy option, so yeah...I did it early on as well.
