He's just the best tank so I had to take him.

However, given his identity crisis, I don't know if he was a true Grey Warden or not. Did he ever truly undergo the joining? I guess not because Corypheus didn't possess his body after he died, but I don't know if that's the reason why or it's because killing the Archdemon broke that ritual.

Did Corypheus even die in your presence? Looked like he was on his knees then you blasted him into the Fade (where he then likely died, or something).

Um... did you do Blackwall's quests?  He's not a Grey Warden.  He stole the identity of one so he could hide from his crimes.  That's why whenever you ask him if he could sense darkspawn, he always get evasive.

I'm really confused...because blasting him into the Fade physically is what he wanted all along? The last mission itself (not the epilogue) was all very rushed and surreal to me.

Similar to the game saying whoever you leave in the fade will "likely" die, I think blasting Cory into the fade was set up to be ambiguous enough that they could potentially milk it for DLC. Though it would be pretty shitty to say "HA! JUST KIDDING! YOU DIDN'T WIN! Buy DLC, only $15.99"

My favorite was when he claimed you could kill an archdemon just by stabbing it enough times. Subtle, BW.

For a warden that would be true through ... it's like an NBA star telling you that dunking is just jumping up to the basketball basket. In hindsight surely you can easily attribute that to his fabricated identity, but within the context of wardens and their secrecy it is just "yeah we just need to stab it, that is all you need to know". That is literally what we do in DAO, some of us just bed a witch first ;).

I'm pretty sure they're just supposed to cite "warden secrets", not lie and say there's nothing to it. If there wasn't anything to it, then you wouldn't need wardens. There's no reason for the wardens to be freaking out about the calling unless there's something special about wardens that allows them, and only them, to stop an archdemon.

Cory's goal was to get into the Fade, so didn't he actually win after all? xD

He doesnt have the anchor to protect him. Plus it wasnt like a rift was opened and he was booted into it. You open one inside him

My interpretation was that the Inquisitor tears him apart with a Rift. Cory doesn't enter a portal of any sort, he seems to just dissipate. If Solas is with you in the fight, afterwards you talk to him and have an explicit option to say that Corypheus is dead, and I assume the PC knowns what he is doing.

He visibly changed bodies in DA2, Hawke and Varric just didn't know about that ability of his.

It's also explicitely said his ressurection mechanism dies with his dragon. Which we killed. So you know, nice try.

I always knew something was up when creeper ghoul guy could suddenly walk and talk normal.  I was like, wtF was that?  What was that!

But Corypheus didn't have a dragon back then, so HOW did was he able to body jump when suddenly NOW that ability is tied to a dragon?

Quick!  Someone use some magic to plug up this plot hole!

We really don't get anymore than that from actual wardens.  He may not have done the joining ritual but that doesn't mean he wouldn't have learned GW secrets during his warden days.

There's even an ambient dialogue, I think during the arboh wilds, where he says something like "Never been so glad I'm not really a Grey Warden". I imagine you would have to have done his quest to get that though.

Seriously?  That's actually a really interesting storyline... I never saw it though.  I really should have talked to the companions more, because his isn't the only quest I missed...

Dude how can you take Blackwall to the final mission without knowing what happened in his personal quest (You can't take Blackwall to the final mission without completing it).
