Yeah I assume you can if you never talked to him enough/got enough approval for the personal quest to activate, if it activates then you have to complete it before going into the final missions.

Considering that some companions, especially Cole, Bull, Blackwall and sometimes Leliana refuse to load when entering the zone it isn't really hard to miss them. I got his quest really late as well, though I'm usually obsessed with my companions and check regularily on them.

I'm by no means an expert on this, but if i remember right they also said cory had to have a living body to possess if he died. so if he was in fact thrown into the fade alive but dying, and not just shredded by a rift formed in his body, there wouldn't be a body to transfer to. Unless of course hawke/stroud/ect didnt' get devoured by Eyeballs, and he had enough free time to roam about till he found it.

Dude how can you take Blackwall to the final mission without knowing what happened in his personal quest (You can't take Blackwall to the final mission without completing it).

I did his quest I was just unsure if he had actually completed the Joining or not!

Not the quest where you find mementos of Grey Wardens, that's just for approval. Once you reach enough approval with Blackwall, and talk to him enough, he'll run off after Adamant Fortress, then you go find him.

If they are keeping Coryphenus alive AGAIN...thats just poor for BW if it happens.

Why? Returning villains are awesome. Like Kael'thas in world of warcraft or with Murdoc in MacGyver.

'Tis was a minor setback!

The anchor is what allows you to exist in the fade with a physical body that and i assume the orb which gave him the power to create the anchor. Without either one having a rift opened up inside your skull and chest is likely to pull first your brain and then your internal organs through before the rest of your body. So there's likely a very big mess on the other side.

*imagining hawke standing there as goop and guts splatters over him*

Well i wud say its pretty safe to say Cory is gone for good this time for few reasons:

-he needs alive warden or presumably darkspawn nearby to make the bodyjump(only warden is actualy fully confirmed)

-its said that killing his dragon leaves him temporarly weakened and unable to do the actual bodyjump even if there was a body avilable

-ancent elven artefact is kinda irrelavant here since he didnt have one in DA2 and still menaged to bodyjump without it

-you actualy open a rift inside him that basicly shreeds him to small pices and than deposits them into the fade or even fully desintegrates him(open to interpretation)

-his actual goal with the anchor/elven artefact was to phisicly enter the fade, now while we can say mybe some small part of his remains actualy it made into the fade phisicly i wud say its safe to assume his story done

I wudnt say its the anchor that alows you that, anchor simply gives you a way of creating a stable portal into the fade, as we can see in DAI or lore in general people have entered fade in physical form before(Tevinter magisters using blood magic-blood sacrafice on massive scale to get the power needed, huge enough quantity of lyrium wud do the trick as well-if i rember correctly isnt this one of the options in original DAO to resolve the Connor issue, or for example in DAI Flemeth opening  a portal trough Eluvian into fade-than again she carries part of Mythal in her so we can assume her power to do it comes from there i guess)

I judged Blackwall on the throne and told him to join the Grey Wardens for real after the mission was over. Whether he does or not I don't know, since you can't talk to him post-game (which is lame).

Yeah I've done that one too. I had him in for judgement and he rejoined me. I was just confused if he completed a joining and then became Blackwall, or didn't manage to complete the joining.

I always knew something was up when creeper ghoul guy could suddenly walk and talk normal.  I was like, wtF was that?  What was that!

But Corypheus didn't have a dragon back then, so HOW did was he able to body jump when suddenly NOW that ability is tied to a dragon?

Quick!  Someone use some magic to plug up this plot hole!

did you pay any attention?

cory put part of his being into the dragon, bending it to his will basically like saron and the ring.

the dragon is part of cory, when you kill it you kill part of him, temporarily interrupting his ability to body jump.

then when you open the rift inside him you rip him into little itty bitty pieces and he dies.

basically people if you haven't learnt by now if you're an immortal being don't bind yourself to physical things that can be destroyed, then your doing it wrong.

Corypheus isn't alive. He's disintegrated by a rift you open inside of him.

What if Corypheus survived by possessing one of the three Grey Wardens you can leave in the Fade?

Especially traumatic if he possesses everyone's favourite Ex-Templar.

He cant possess anyone, when you killed the dragon, it disrupted his body jump ability for a time and then you opened a rift inside Corypheus that killed him. He is gone.

But the one you left in the Fade will comeback as the host of Nightmare, you will see.
