Found several runes, but my mage cannot enchant the weapon.  Also, there is no option to enchant a weapon with the Tranquil in Ostagar who says he is an enchanter.  I don't need an exact spoiler, just does this ability come later on in the campaign?

yea i've only been able to enchant single-handed weapons for some reason.

I tried to enchant in my players camp but it says i dont have any weapons capable...generic or already magical. Im not sure what the criteria is for enchant-able weapon. And Im tired of hauling around all these runes which waste space...and not to mention there is no other means of storage.

A weapon that can be enchanted has little slots at the bottom of it's info panel.

That's how many runes can go in it.



You'll get access to an enchanter a little later in the game.

Yeah, there's not a lot of weapons (that I've found so far) that can be enchanted.

I've only got about 5 or so myself.

Thanks for the info...didn't know about slots. I've probably sold some and din't know it.

Doubtful. So far the weapons I've found with slots have been the best ones I have.

Not much regular stuff that has them.

Have runes, but most of them dont have rune properties... runes have blank properties..

In Awakenings the higher-level runes need to be crafted from lower-level runes by a mage who has the runecrafting talent.  There are also recipes and ingredients that are required.  Once the rune is crafted an enchanter can place it into a weapon or piece of armor that has a rune slot.

The process of runecrafting in Awakening can be quite a challenge.

In Origins the runes are either purchased from a merchant or found as loot.  They can be placed into weapons by the enchanter at party camp (post-Lothering).
