Bioware doesn't deserve this... they deserve to be PUT OUT OF BUSINESS for what they've done...

If Bioware went bankrupt tomorrow, i would celebrate and pray none of the devs working for them EVER got a job in gaming again.

Moneygrubbing A**wipes.

Awww did somebody lose their allowence buying a game they didn't like thats so sad guess now the company has to go out of business because of yet another whiny customer, ha nope I believe Bioware should continue making awesome games in the Dragon Age and Mass Effect universes just to urk all you haters out there if it weren't fir Bioware I wouldn't be such a videogame person so why don't you and the rest of the haters just do Bioware a favor and take a hike to a forum where people just like you can wallow in all the hate you spew towards these peoples life work. You don't like their games thats a fine and dandy so stop spending your money on them so you can come on here and complain about later. Congrats Bioware I enjoy the game and think that this award was deserved, omg theres bugs big whoop welcome to any game being released anymore. On an end note still waiting Bioware for more solid ME4 info you jive suckas!

With regular crashes during Cutscenes and the Wartable the game is not playable. It does not deserve praise.

The game is not playable. Thus I do not have anything positive to say about the game.

On the PC, the  game isn't playable for me either.  But that is not the point of this topic. The point of this topic is to congratulate a company, which is made-up of people who work hard and for long hours on a massive game. This game encompasses both of the previous two installments in size and scope.  Yes, the game has glitches and bugs. We are reporting those. I am reporting those. The last article I read on Bioware is that the company is busily working on fixes.  It's taking long I know.  I would probably be as frustrated as many of you if I didn't also order the Inquisitor's Edition for Xbox One. I'm patiently waiting for fixes for the PC version.  We are displeased on many changes in the franchise.  I am as well (Look at my feed). Nonetheless, a game must evolve with time.  Also, we need to attempt to try something new. We might like it or we might not.

For those of you who cannot play the game, it is hard for you to know this... to know how enjoyable and refreshing some aspects of the game is truly is.  Let's us encourage Bioware to continue on their unceasing efforts on finding quick fixes for the bugs and glitches.  While Bioware is doing so, let's give  the game the recognition it deserves as well as giving an accolade  to  the people who worked many long hours to create this game.  We are human beings; a little praise goes a long way on the heart.

Is "happy" the same as "deserved"?

An award is a recognition for hard work done.  The people who work hard on this massive game do deserve this award and I am happy for them.

Nice to see a fairly new poster that's positive for once.  :D

Just like you, I'm very well aware of some of the bugs and glitches in the game.  I've been reporting them and even working directly with one of the developers to try to get one tested.  I have never hesitated to express my disagreements with the story/art direction in DA games.  I always try to be polite, but I'm not blind.  I have some older posts in my history that have criticized BioWare pretty heavily in the past.

That being said, however, I think that BioWare has earned this.  I'm at about 39 hours in and I'm still not terribly far into the story.  I know that this game is going to have a lot more replays for me down the road, especially when some of those bugs are patched.

That award is just proof the awards are circle-jerk of developers and "critics".

“This is immensely humbling,” said Darrah, “This is really an award that belongs to our fans that stuck with us for a long time."

The rest of that quote reads, "And watched us run a fantastic tactical RPG franchise completely into the ****** ground!" He the flipped off the crowd and told PC gamers to "eat a bag of dicks."

Seriously though, its pretty galling he specifically mentions old school Bioware fans (unless "longtime fans" mean since like 2011) while having completely abandoned their old RPG roots.

At this point....it does not surprise me. Abandoning depth and tactical gameplay and embracing flashy shallowness and twitch-oriented combat. But EA's bottom line trumps just any other consideration when push comes to shove. One more example of the sad triumph of spectacle over substance. If it makes dollars....it must make sense :(

Great game. Immersive. Well-deserved award.

I've already spent over 140 hours on it, and, despite playing on the very lowest graphics settings on an old PC with no graphics card, the game looks beautiful (well, except for the blobs-o-hair). The characters are complex. The story is engaging. The amount of content is astonishing. It was pretty easy to "complete" DA2. It's going to take multiple play throughs with DAI.

I was able to adjust to the new combat system pretty easily despite having to struggle with an extremely low framerate. I can even make the tac cam do what it's supposed to do! (though that did take some practice) Woot!

Bioware forums is where people come to complain. But they wouldn't bother to complain if they didn't expect a lot from Bioware. So complain if you must--but there's also a time to celebrate.

No question that hard work and long hours was put in.

No question that dedication is required.

No question that the worker bees deserve recognition from their peers and a raise too boot.

In all honesty there has not been many big games this year, mostly remakes of older games since the new or current gen whichever you wish to call the PS4/XB1 came out. Destiny and Watchdogs both were completely underwhelming and like i say most other games are bloody remakes of games that were just out a year or so ago instead of working on new games.

It has been the game that i have played most but that's because there just has not been much a of a great selection of games to chose from unless you never played games like GTA 5 on last gen.

So yeah it's not like there was much of a choice for them to go up against unlike previous years where there were lots of good games to chose between but yeah this is probably the best game i have played this year but due to the lack of competitors it's not that big a win imo.

Still congrats, enjoy it.

Isn't this the wrong section to post that?

And the game hasn't even been out a month yet... WTH.

Don't get me wrong, I don't regret my purchase. I don't love the game but I like it. Only because of the story and world.  The combat is boring, I've fallen asleep a couple times while fighting.  >_<

Combat is boring? I played Origins and it took me 10 minutes to kill an normal demon with good swords since warrior class have very

slow attack speed. DAI is much better than others in my opinion.

Congratz BioWare team for GOTY, they totaly deserved it

Well Done! In my view totally deserved. Awesome game. I am just surprised that so many haters post here. I somehow think some people are just so spoilt that they don't appreciate anything. You give some people a gold bar, and their only question would be " why only one gold bar?".  Sadly people expect everything to be not only perfect, but just as "they" personally want it. As the saying goes I guess you cant please everyone.....

This is by far the best game I have ever played period, and I have been gaming for 25 years.....

I don't think there are that many haters tbh, the problem is people mistake people who have bugs in their games as haters when in fact it's the opposite, they like the game so much they come to try get their bugs fixed so they can enjoy it all the more. That's my feeling anyway, i have been enjoying the game very much but would enjoy it more if i had not encountered so many bugs.

Haters are more like people that come to just say a game is crap and ask for no help to improve the game then leave but i have seen none of that since joining the board.

Yer I have seen a few extreme posts... but

I have to say this......

Any person that thinks a games company can produce a game of this size and scope, without bugs, is sadly a FOOL.

Most MMO's I play, still have bugs present years after the launch..... maybe people just expect too much.....

Yes I have the odd bug too, I just don't throw my toys out the pram like some posters here....

You want a small 5 hour game, then maybe you can have no bugs.

My point still stands that these people should not be classed as haters. How would they know what to fix if we did not come here to tell them the bugs we are encountering

Indeed...

The people I was referring to as Haters, were the posts like the one from Dreez you quoted, not genuine people who are trying to solve bugs . But to be honest most comments in this thread are either positive or angry. There does not seem to be many reasonable bug inquiries from what I have read. I do think that people who expect the game to be bug free, however do not live in the real world. Yes try and get them fixed. But some people here seem to takes bugs personally, like the developers deliberately were out to get them..... kinda silly in my view.

Perhaps some of those people should make a game themselves, they may just find that it is not quite as simple as they thought.... Always easy to be critical... Another good rule of thumb.... the bigger the game, the more bugs.... I am at 55 hours, and have not even scratched the surface...now to me, that is a big game.... and by definition is going to have bugs.

On a side note... I imagine most of the people who are enjoying the game, are probably busy playing it, rather than posting here, so forums always tend to give a slightly unbalanced view..

I have been enjoying it, i am 130 hours in but i do like to come see what people are saying about it which is something rare for me to do. Usually i just post on forums like Truetrophies even though i am not much of a trophy hunter in all honesty. But this game has been the game i have most enjoyed since buying my PS4 so also enjoy seeing other peoples opinions and ideas. I did also post about the bugs i encountered but i do like reading more than just bug posts and if i can help others that are having issues if i can.

So yeah i only really join forums for specific games when i am absolutely immersed in it.

It's actually one of the rare games that i pre ordered as there just has not been enough games of the like since the PS4 came out and i loved Origins. The thing is i came to last gen very late so had an abundance of great games to chose from that would have been patched and fixed up by the time i bought them but with the lack of games for the current gen i don't have that luxury but i wont say i am annoyed at buying it with all the bugs, there may have been some that are almost game breaking but not to the point that i can't complete the majority of it.

I am going to try make my first play through last as long as possible so that hopefully the bugs i have encountered get fixed by the time i am ready for my 2nd play through. Strange as it may sound but patches actually excite me, i love reading up on all the new fixes or additions to games they have added lol.

If you want people to do something on BSN, you almost have to tell them to do the opposite- i.e. telling people to stay positive only appears to have hastened the inevitable belly-aching. And look, I'm frustrated with some of the bugs as well. But the game is still really good, the world is huge and immersive and there's a ton of content, the characters are pretty much standard Bioware fare (which is to say engaging and memorable), and there's alot to love about the gameplay (not many RPGs with more strategic and varied combat sequences). Here's an idea- complain about bugs on the bug threads, and commend the positives on the threads devoted to that topic. Not sure why this is rocket science to some people.
