Okay Varric, I'm sold.

Bioware, after reading all of the Hard in Hightown chapters in DA:I and after the Video Game Awards, obviously the first thing on everyone's mind is a profound desire to buy Varric's best selling book in print real life form.

This should really be done since Varric's publisher stole gold from him by telling him no one bought his books in Orlais, so naturally, Varric should expand his consumer range and break the fourth wall with the power of the chest hair by allowing us to buy Hard in Hightown in real life.

It shall be an opportunity to all of the real life mystery crime writers to learn from Thedas's best author and a unique chance to all of us readers to touch something Varric has written himself and proudly be in possession of such a gripping novel.

I love all of the banter about Varrics writing.

Especially since I had him and Cass in my party almost all of the time.

I liked her comment wanting the champion to autograph her copy of The Tale of the Champion and Varric reminding her it had a large hole in it.

Is it actually a fun read? Never actually bothered reading the codex entries of it. Sorry Varric.

He admits to it being his worst piece of literature.

I'm anticipating a 50 Shades type book with some hilarity thrown in because even the book can't take itself seriously.

Edit: Wow, I got the books mixed up.

It better be good! And I would so buy it! :P

even more amusing, it becomes the next popular novel due to being 'badly' written.

The story seemed to make fun of crime dramas so would be an amusing read.

The chest hair compels me.

The chest hair compels me.

The chest hair compels me.

I will practice consumerism in the name of Varrics chest hair.

All hail the chest hair.

I need this.

Not as much as I need romance continuation in DLC's, but the need for Hard in Hightown can reach that same level if it gets made.

This and Sword and Shields being ported to a real format would make my day so utterly. Though the latter needs annotations in the margins by Cassandra and Varric. Actually, I'd even go for an annotated version of Hard in Hightown now that I think of it. Oh Biowareeeeeeee~

It's fun kind of the same way Blasto was fun in Mas Effect, it plays on a lot of buddy cop and noir  stereotypes.  I found myself enjoying reading them even though I got them out of order.

I thought Varric as best-selling author seemed kind of anachronistic, but fun.  Does Thedas have the printing press?  I guess it could.  Probably a Qunari invention.

That's not a bad idea at all. And not unprecedented, also.
Remember those two small textbooks J.K. Rowling did for charity? The ones with margin notes and doodles from the boys? I never bought any book or comics in the DA franchise but I would definitely buy something like this.

10/10 would buy every novel Bioware publishes by "Varric".

Every. Single. One.

They better sell "signed" copies too...

At this time I'm planing my very own printed copy of "Hard in Hightown". I'm doing bookbinding as hobby so this is an ease for me ^^

It will have an ancient style, leather coverd, handmade paper and calligraphy fonts. I'll show you some pictures, when I'm done.

Other DAI books made by myself -> http://forum.bioware...-fanmade-books/

P.S. Still missing Chapter 8, if someone got it...

Can I also get a copy of Varric's Orleasian series? I want to see how Varric describes Madame de fer.

I foresee @dgaider taking the pseudonym Varric Tethras and publishing several novels. He said he is working on a book....

I'm not sure if I got all the chapters, but the ones I read have characters obviously based on Merril, Isabella, and Aveline. Also, according to banter between Solas and Varric, by the end of the book almost every character is revealed to be a spy or a traitor, and everyone except Donnen (the protagonist) turns out to be in disguise.
