English is my second language and I am deaf. First of all, I would like to say that DA: I is amazing game. I bought it for PC. The reason I choose PC over consoles is because PC is more deaf friendly because of easy access to text chat rather than console menus which taking forever.

I learned about this game having Multiplayer similar to Mass Effect 3. Of course I was so excited. I love Dragon Age and Mass Effect. These are best games Bioware ever made. I played all on ps3/xbox360 before I ported to PC. Mainly reason I got excited because I knew I'd get PC before DA: I came out. I always wanted to have communicate with teammates. having communicate and play for real like serious make game more fun to me. PC always have that feature while consoles never does.

So today I played Multiplayer for first time. Only played one match and I became frustrated and annoyed already the moment I set in. THERE IS NO TEXT CHAT!(the one you have to press T or Y to type and press Enter to send.) That is my rant. Why would Bioware not add that to Multiplayer for PC? It is PC for sake! Every multiplayer games on PC suppose to have text chat! So why not this one too? Now I can't even communicate with them at all. We lost because of lacking of communicate. Some players would be waiting at front of locked door without me knowing and wonder why they wait for and realized I am only rogue and I was suppose to picklock. It is all confuse and lack of communicate made game quite un-enjoyable. I can't even enjoy this game online. Please add back text chat system. It would be much helpful for Deaf players. We can't use voice program. It is totally not fair to us.

How or where can I get Bioware developers attention to this?

I said for PC. Not consoles. I play this game with keyboard and mouse.

However, if they happen to make it possible for consoles which I know they are capable of it. Players can just have keyboard right next to them and use keyboard if need to type. Much easier. Even dell keyboard works. (USB port)

If a few people are standing at a wall. It's probably useful to find out why.

Yeah, the way multiplayer shipped with no text chat and no push to talk, you can kind of tell the team behind multiplayer were just going for whatever would work on all platforms. Which makes for a pretty awful PC experience since most of what you hear are people who don't know their webcam has a mic that's spying on them.

But the fact that they fixed push to talk relatively quickly gives me some hope they'll add text chat soon. It is a no brainer PC feature.

Didn't know they fixed push to talk. I would get hope if they actually mention about text chat. So far, no one mention of it, yet.

They wont add it.  While I agree that it would be a nice option the trouble is they never had it in ME3MP and don't have it in this.  Seems a lot of people who I know play this use a controller for it so how would they type?  I don't have issues with the lack myself but for people in your position I can see the issues and can't help but wonder if this might fall under the Americans With Disabilities Act.  The only way you might see change is to push it on this front.

As I stated, it is for PC. Not consoles. However, even if you play with controller on PC, you still have keyboard right in front of you, anyway. It should not be that hard. It might under ADA...if it is then I might should seeking lawsuit.

Why is it people never read fully what is said?  I never singled out one platform over another but it was insinuated that I was referring to PC in this matter.  I prefer the PC and while not deaf I also would like text chat as well just as another form of communication if people are not using voice.

In regards to the controller being used on a PC, from what I know if you have switched to controller for this game it no longer accepts input from the keyboard.  So unless they patched it in the amazing "Patch 2" which "fixed" things I highly doubt having text chat would help those people.

I may not have a disability such as you and for my part I can deal without text chat even though I believe it should be in games, the industry seems to be getting away form text chat as this is not the only game I have seen it in I just chat think of any others at the moment besides ME3MP but I know that is not the only one.  If you do go the lawsuit route I do wish you the best as hopefully it will change things for the better, not just in this game but in others as well as practices in general.

I am guessing you have never played Final Fantasy XIV ARR. It will work like that. It let you play with controller. If need type something, you can just press a key to enter chat box and type then send. peasy easy.

he was sarcastic, because the game controls were obviously designed for a controller.

It was the same with Mass Effect 3, there was no text chat.  People asked a lot for this, but it never came.

I don't think Bioware really cares about this, sorry for you.  English is not my first language either, I'd often prefer a text-chat too.

The problem I can see, is how to implement text-chat with voice chat?  As soon as one person selects "text-chat" everyone is forced in text chat?

Oh, have they fixed text chat for mass effect multiplayer ? As far as I know, they don't even want people to have chat. I mean mass effect multiplayer it was already pissing me off that there is no chat and I'm not able to tell people what chars i would like to play with ect. and then I saw dragon age multi player I was like "oh so its another mass effect wannabe MP to milk money from ppl"

Huh, given that ME3 had the exact same problem I'd have figured that they wouldn't make the exact same mistake again.

The same way all other games handle it - if you have a microphone, you can use it to communicate; if you don't, you have to put down the mouse to type a reply. I don't see the problem here.

Why would that be too much to ask? They knew the better not to take out text chat for PC. After all it is PC! :(

The fun fact being that ME3 did have text chat because it was a UE3 game and a simple INI tweak would enable it. But telling people how to do that got me banned on the forums once...

And given that DAI is based on Frostbite I'm almost willing to bet that this, too, has built in text chat that has just been disabled/hidden.
