Didn't you hear? The game is optimized for PC. Not being about to chat with keyboard is for PC players' sake.
What this has to do with text chat?

As far as they're concerned, there already is text chat. The text chat they claimed was available for DAI? Turns out they were talking about Origin's chatroom and Origin's friend PM services the whole time.

and it is really useless because you would have to add EVERYONE to join chatroom. Who want that?
