Let me start with the positive: I like the fact that whenever you hit L3, it beeps when something salvageable is nearby. I also like how the mini-map "shimmers" when there's a hidden object nearby, and how it "points" you in the direction of that object.

But here's what I don't like, and what I wish could be improved upon:

1. I am not good with colors, being red/green colorblind. This makes it incredibly difficult a lot of the time to discern just what the hell the search function is pinging on, unless I'm almost on top of it, or it isn't hidden in vegetation. I wish a different color selection would have been used — maybe purple? Something garish, at any rate, to make the loot easier to see. Maybe even an obvious "shimmer" around lootable objects the search function has found.

2. The mini-map could be improved. One immediate solution that comes to mind is, when your search function hits on a loot able object, the object's location appears on the mini-map. As of now, it doesn't and, combined with the issue I mentioned in No. 1, it makes for some fruitless and time-consuming running around on my behalf.

Overall, my DAI experience thus far has been positive ... but fixes like the two proposed above would be the icing on the cake, Bioware.

Even if it showed on the mini map it doesnt tell you if it's high or low.

Loot gets an orange outline.

I'm all for a different color outline in some areas, the really brightly lit places the orange/yellow outline kind of blends in

It definitely needs a different color outline. Red, purple, or something equally as bright would work. I hardly use it now because I can't see the orange outline.

Though this was about the Bioware site search function.

I modified the topic title to reflect your note, Dabrikishaw.

This is one of my 3 gripes with DA:I.

In a lot of zones you simply can't see what the **** it is you're "finding".  So you spend an abnormal amount of time looking for it.  Make the highlight either stand out more or have the items name float over it when you "find" it.  And can we have LESS stuff to find?  I'd rather have 10 nodes in a zone that drop 10 items each than 500 nodes that drop 1 item each.

You can literally run from one end of Hinterlands to the other and never stop finding stuff because there are soooooooooo many harvest nodes.

Fewer nodes would make finding those nodes feel more rewarding and less like a chore.

If the 'detected something' sound was directional it'd help.

I'm NOT colourblind and I still have trouble seeing them. It's just a yellow outline in a land of broken shapes and dashing colours against each other. Maybe if the land was a featureless slate they'd be easier to see, but as it is I often have to 'look through' buildings and such for the highlight to be any good.

I definately agree with the minimap. A little pusling logo for loot, for mats (or fer herb/stone specifically) and other would be great too.

Glad to see I'm not alone with this concern.

On a related note — OK, I didn't want to start a separate topic for this — what's the level cap in DAI? My toon is 17 right now, and she has yet to explore three or so regions. Also, what's the tier cap? Three? Four? Five?

Being colorblind as well, I'm right there with you.

Also, sometimes it pings when it isn't highlighting anything on the screen, usually on creature-dropped loot that is out of LOS. And since I can't see the highlight half the time anyway... this leads to lots of looking in circles for no reason.

Level cap is 'sotf'. There is no hard cap, but you will stop getting experience eventually as enemies are worth less the bigger the gap is.

My first guy is at 21 or 22 (can't remember which). He has only killed four of the dragons so he has more exp to go.
