Im in a commited relationship with Blackwall, and his sweet, but i also have a soft spot for Cullen. Not sure who i should pick as I know i can only be with one person. I still flirt with Cullen.

Dont want any major spoilers please, but which is the better option? I saw that Cullen lies alot somewhere online (google snippet) but couldnt access the page, but with Blackwall what you see is what you get and apparantly he becomes really great as a character as the game progresses.

Thoughts? Or is it too late now im with Blackwall?

Cullen's romance is sweet. Almost like Alistair 2.0. I enjoyed his romance heavily.

Uh, where did you hear the Cullen lies a lot bit? And the Blackwall 'what you see is what you get' bit? Have you mixed them up? o.O

 

Anyway, they are both dramatic characters, though Cullen less so. Cullen's romance is nice and sweet, but not being able to take him on missions and hear his banter and input is a considerable downside.

 

I'm romancing Blackwall now and while he is a pretty passionate character and I wanted to romance him first, I'm not that happy with him (finished all his quests). At least it looks like he really loves the inquisitor? Meh.

Personally, I'm very glad I have a Cullen option. I haven't romanced Blackwall or Iron Bull, but really, the idea of only having those two makes me sigh heavily and would ensure that my Inquisitor would be Forever Alone.

 

And yeah, if you're hearing that Cullen lies a lot and Blackwall is straightforward, then I think you have them mixed up...

Let's see - I romanced Blackwall, so I'm not really super objective here - heh. I'm just going to say that Cullen is hot and does have a hot romance scene, but that whole thing strikes me as being fairly vanilla (sweet, but mostly vanilla - plus, he's ten years younger than I am).

 

Blackwall has a whole lot more drama and angst because...reasons. I ultimately found it quite rewarding, but you have to be prepared for dealing with heavy issues - which is about as far as I can go in talking about it without spoilers. His romance tarot card is hot - so there's that to look forward to if you stick it out, hah!

I've only romanced Cullen it really did feel like an Alistair romance guess thats why I liked it so much but you only get 8 scenes with him :/ I feel you get alot more with Blackwall from what I've seen on youtube.

btw can you have a romance triangle in this game like you could in da2?

Fenris was one of my favourite romances...i like 'em broken and angry, lol.So thats a plus! But then I also loved Alistair cos he was so funny, and a sweetheart, and i got to take his virginity which he was very grateful for. Cullen seems sweet, but he doesnt have Alistairs wit? (so far anyway)

 

Sigh.....guess Im just going to have to play it again. Poor me....lol

I was never super keen on Cullen before the game, and my indifference to him is mainly because I really didn't see anything in him in the previous games we hadn't seen before, and I adore Alistair, so having a LI so similar seemed a bit boring for me and I was worried he would be too bland.

But Cullen's arc is different and yeah he's pretty damn sweet. I like having him around and I'll likely romance him with a PC (probably human) at some point.

My preference is still for Blackwall, I like my LI to be a bit scruffier around the edges both in looks and personality. But that could change too.

Uh, I haven't gone through Blackwall's romance arc, but if his personal quest is any indication, I'm sure it will be interesting. 

 

I'm sure both romance arcs have it's own thing going on, and you can always roll another character to try something different. I'm sure both are great

Cullen is the safe bet. Plus, they developed him really well this time. I sort of couldn't stand him before the game came out and I've now been converted into a fan.

I've heard that Cullen has more romance scenes than most, actually? I'm towards the end of the game, and I can count about 7 or so major scenes (in my hazy memory!).

 

The romance with Cullen is definitely sweet and romantic, and is basically just two people meeting and falling in love without too much drama. I love it 

 

I've only watched the Blackwall scenes on youtube, but I like the intensity of them. The spoilers though. The spoilers would be...stressful to deal with if you were in a romance with him. Haven't seen any of the Blackwall party banter, but in romancing Cullen you get comments from Sera, Cole, and a couple around the War Table?

Cullen's romance was really nice and I felt it was paced out very well throughout the game. I was worried the romance would happen too quickly. I am now trying Blackwall for my second playthrough. I'm only in the beginning stages of just flirting with him so don't have much to say yet about it.

Cullen is the stable choice, for lack of a better word. Yes, there is a bit of drama at some point, but it's mild compared to the bomb that Blackwall drops on you. So, if you want a gentleman, then choose Cullen. If you want drama and agonizing choices, then pick Blackwall.

 

If you want to sob, play as an Elf and choose Solas. If you want to laugh your ass off, but still go "D'awww", choose Iron Bull. That's as far as I know for female heterosexual choices. If you're willing to expand a bit, Dorian is awesome

Cullen. Yes, he does remind me a little of Alistair but his romance is different, more mature (which is obvious because he's not a 20 year old virgin templar). It's very sweet indeed and passionate when it's nessesary. I wasn't disappointed a bit. (especially if you decide to save the mages)

And knowing Blackwall story now... I don't know, i intended to romance him as my Cadash but haven't decided yet, I'll see how it'll go with my dwarfy.

 

If you intend to do more than one playthrough, maybe you should try different races/different romances?

Vis-a-vis party banter related to the Blackwall romance, you get banter about it from the others. And if you bring him and Vivienne along in your group after Revelations, you get to see him show her up/shut her down for once on the subject of your relationship (she certainly didn't seem to have a response to everything that he said...and it was kind of romantic, actually).
