I've made a conscience decision not romance Solas, although I like his character and the arc and his voice is great.

It's Beardy, sorrowful git all the way for me. I liked his romance a lot. If it's not to your taste then it's not to your tastes. Dorians is pretty much up there too.

As for Cullen, I like him a lot and I'm currently doing his romance. I can honestly tell you though I would have much preferred to romance him with a guy, my female PC for him is a bland as bat guano and not making me inspired to play much.

What? The inquisitor is whatever you make him/her. Plus, male or female, the inquisitor is a bit bland for a PC so I don't know what sex has got to do with it.

Exactly my point, I cant get behind the current character.  But I'm doing it to romance Cullen because it's the most fitting I see for him with what I've got to work with.  I had my hopes up for bi-Cullen - so maybe I'm just disappointed and it's coming across in my PT?  Maybe it's cos I'm restricted to human/elf?  Maybe I have DA burnout from 250 hours of gameplay?

Problem?

"Bland as bat guano" sounds right about Cullen's speed.

I did a speed run for my Trevelyan-Cullen game. By that point, nothing else was going to get me to the big Corypheus hoedown in the sky.

Perhaps all three. However, I've found that two things keep gameplay interesting, 1) the romances I'm interested in, and 2) playing characters of really different values/personality types--some of which I have to role-play in my head since the PC can be pretty vanilla in DAI.

I'm actually looking forward to playing my worst world state of "stupid humans ruin everything" for DAI, which will feature a sanctimonious female Trev and of course a Seramance (I've been eager to crush that stupid twit's heart for weeks now). That's what makes a game fun-- getting as close to Renegade Shep as you can.

I suck at roleplaying.  Trying though and occasionally have 'moments'.  Worst world state will have to wait.  Mass Effect does dirtbag PC moments far better than DA (IMHO)

For me when I play as a female, I usually romance Blackwall with a Qunari and Cullen with an elf. As a human it tends to go with Iron Bull. I have different preferences for each race. Not sure on a dwarf.

Cullen. Though I like the trope of the hot jock who is somehow a virgin, and while everyone wants him he only has eyes for you (even if you make a hideous inquisitor, lol).

You think Cullen's a virgin? Shoving your girlfriend onto your work desk for some nasty foreplay doesn't seem like a virgin move to me lol
