It depends on your politics. Vivienne's the most conservative, Leliana the least. None of them **** up too bad, I guess. A hardened Leliana will end up killing a lot of people. But these people would have disagreed with your player character if Leliana ended up space-pope, so next game they'd probably just become mindless zombies like the mages/Templars you didn't help did this game. So she's just doing you a favor, really.

does romancing Cassandra or Vivienne actually make a difference?

You can't romance Vivienne. Cassandra wonders whether or not a relationship with the Inquisitor will work, but just romancing her does not ensure that she will/won't become the Divine. You didn't ask, but the writers have confirmed that Leliana, radical that she is, can eventually openly have a relationship with the Warden.

Oh do you remember who confirmed that?

Leiliana seemed like she would get most people killed if she was chosen.
Not if you didn't harden her. You need to advice her against being ruthless 3 times throughout the game.

^^^
She'll be a lot more sympathetic. But strangely she didn't talk to me about what she'd do as a Divine until after I finished putting Cassandra's name forward.

That's normal, I guess. She's the last person to have a conversation with the Inquisitor about this, even though she and Cassandra are mentioned as mentioned as candidates first.
Thank you so
Makes sense for the character.
Agreed.
... What in god's name are they actually saying in that Tweet?
You have to use a cipher, but it's already deciphered in the forum/reddit posts I linked to. I just included the extra citations because it took no real effort on my part.

Ah. That defeats my theory of Weekes and Chee belonging to the cult of Cthulhu.

Cassandra is the obvious choice, in my opinion.

The character I've been waiting for 3 years to be a companion and can romance? No thanks.
I know my protagonist's life is probably going to suck, just like Warden and Hawke.. but I'd rather not do myself in. I'll let it happen when it happens.

For me, Leliana all the way, whether she's a sociopath, or still a sociopath but currently chill.

For Leliana I thought it was more or less concrete. For Cassandra, she straight-up tells you that the romance will end if she becomes Divine, though since Leliana doesn't seem to care to call it quits with the Warden, Cassandra could theoretically just handwave the "no romance for the Divine" rule out of the books if she felt like it.

I'm not sure. She might keep the relationship a secret. On the other hand, I'm not sure how radical married religious leaders are in Andrastianism. How big of a change would this be? I think it'd be less of one than racial equality or abolishing the circles. I know Andrastianism is different from Catholicism/Christianity, (for one thing, there seems to be much less scriptural basis for clerical celibacy in Andrastianism) but some Eastern Catholic sects allow married priests. So it's hardly unthinkable in Andrastianism's earthly analogue. Are there any Andrastian sects in Thedas that don't have have celibate religious leaders? I think Tevinter Fathers are also celibate, but actually I have no idea.

I heard that their "scriptural" basis is that Maferath betrayed Andraste.
And err.. I guess that means men aren't to be trusted. lol. ![]()

Oh for the... She doesnt straight out tell you that the relationship is over. Infact all her dialogue stays the same.

How is it determined who'll end up being Divine? In my playthrough Cass and Leliana were going on about it, and I was supporting Cass but in the end Vivienne ended up becoming Divine. I'm not entirely sure how that happened.

In my opinion, if you're really against the Circles, then Leliana's the best. Otherwise, toss-up between Cassandra and Vivienne.
