I'm not sure if anyone else figured this out, but here it is.

It's true, I just crafted them for my necromancer and katari. I was just unlocking all the armors to see if I would get anything, and as I was running out of the most common materials i started using these rarer ones and boom! I had unique(purple) armor with better armor rating than all my other armors.

With that being said, I hope we can destroy our current armors so we can remake the ones we already did... Because I main the assassin and I would really love for her to have unique armor..

Armor rating levels depend on the crafting matierals!

This is all t2 btw.

As you can see, the armor is better for ones I crafted with better materials.

It wasn't a random craft.  "Tier 2" armor for Necros/Katari are always unique quality.  Just like how their "Tier 1" armor is rare, while all other classes have common quality T1.  It's just a bug mate.  Crafting material has no impact on armor crafting.

Why is the armor rating and item level higher than?

It's not.  It is exactly the same armor rating as anyone else who crafted that same piece of armor.  If I were to craft T2 Katari/Necro armor, I would get exactly the same item you did.  The rarity being different from other classes and the appearance being the same between T1/T2 for Katari/Necro appears to be a bug.

I beg to differ.

Necromancer and Katari's starting armors are tier 2 and they don't have a tier 1 alternative. The next one they can craft is their tier 3 armor (the unique's), but currently the look on character for these are currently bugged and look identical to the tier 2 alternative.

It still doesn't explain why my regular t2 armor has less defense than my t2 armor with a skin. While on my other characers, all the armor rating is the same.

The only explanation is because of the materials i used to craft the skin.

Unless it's a bug..

Ah, that's what you were wondering about. The "named" armors have higher defense value then the regular one. If you craft the others with names you will find out that they have the same defense value despite whatever material you use :)

Did you not see the pictures?
My crafted ones with the different skins are better than the regular ones.

The three color variants of each tier of armor have increased defense. BabyLion just stated that. I'm not sure what you're saying fully. Material quality doesn't matter. For armor, at least. I have all the same armors and I used iron, plaidweave, silk, etc.

You're misunderstanding what I said.  I said that if I crafted the exact same piece of armor I get the exact same stats you do.  Every time.  If I craft Deathbringer's Hide, I get a purple with 87 Armor Rating.  So would anyone else that attempts to craft that armor.  Getting a unique quality item is guaranteed when crafting that schematic.  There is no variance.  None.  The screenshots of your other armors are exactly that.  Different armors.  The alternate skins, such as "Deathbringer's Hide (Dathras)" have slightly higher armor than the standard armor.  Crafting the alternate skins for any other armor set on any other class also grants a slight increase to armor rating.  My point here is that there is no variance.  Materials have no impact on your armor.

T1 armor for Necro/Katari is always blue (rare quality).  T2 armor is always unique (purple) for those two classes.  This only happens with Katari/Necro.

Yes, that's pretty much what I just said =p

The names armors (different color skins as you pointed out) have a slightly improved armor value. This is because you have to get the regular armor before you can unlock the differently colored ones (named armors, like Stonebound, Dusk, etc.). It's unfortunately poorly explained in the game, but easily spotted with some experimentation.

Anyway, hope that helps explain what was going on. Good luck in the game.
