It's not as though this is an inescapable fate for Leliana. In the wake of Justinia's death, and the massacre of thousands at the Urn of Sacred Ashes, it's the Inquisitor who can help her walk a different path.

I know. I just find it sad that she'll go down this path in many players' cases.

Justinia sounds worse than Marjolaine. Or even a bastard Warden who hardened Leliana already.

if shes hardened evil if she isnt shes a sue(br3ad's words) , if it cass people complain she goes too far, viv has alot of issues and a mage is on the throne(which scares me tbh). Im starting to think that pro temps/magi are trying to create a race war of sorts

Templars, I sided with the mages in my first playthrough, but I knew that I should have went Templar.

The Templars were forced to become Red Templars by drinking or eating Red Lyrium.

The Mages were not being forced to serve Tevinter or Alexius. Sure, you can say that they made a deal or were indentured, but in the end, they still had their minds and they decided to fight for Corypheus.

Also, if you talk with a lot of Mages, they say that not even half of the all the Mages wanted to rebel, many would prefer being back in the Circle.

If you played DA II I can see why you'd side with the Mages, but Meredith was an exception and that was only in Kirkwall.

Morally, itd be best to side with the Templars.

Gameplay wise, who cares, just play the game again and make completely different choices next time, we all end up doing that anyways :)

They get brainwashed if you side with the Templars, a note in the hissing wastes if you side with the Templars kind of confirms it.

I chose to conscript mages and will conscript templars. They need to be held accountable for their actions.

Question for the mage supporters: as they are given a lot of free stuff in the circle, namely food, hot baths, education, clothes, and so on. are all of these things, required for the circle/college of magi? Could they for instance pay for their food, education clothes, hot baths? or do community service? or are all those things that they are entitled to by being mages?

This is the same guide that tells you things like "You can't get above level 11 influence".  I'm not impressed.

I wish I were.  The guide is incomplete and generally riddled with mistakes.  The authors should be ashamed of it, and BioWare/EA should never have given it final approval.

"There are a couple of things wrong in the guide so the thing I don't like must be wrong!"

Gee, what wondrous logic you have there /s

This is supported in-game,

Back To Thedas Part 1 Save yourself. Thats the Mage's Plotline, Templars are more realistic as you battle a envy demon.

I don't think things would be that different if the College pays them for their work which in turn pays for their amenities there.

Not mentioned by the epilogue. I presume they find some way.

Likely through enchantments and potions. The codexes mention that Circles make their money through enchanted items.

Well, Leliana allows the mages to govern themselves, "; she seems to be quite competent

Question: are the epilogues fact cause we may be looking at a origins fiasco. Retcons galore, more flame threads... just thought of it

Not until developer comments say that they're only hearsay and rumor. And I doubt it, because unlike Origins' epilogues, these were created in the knowledge that the series would continue.

The epilogue would seem to say otherwise.

I wouldn't bother arguing with them. Templar supporters are so up their butts about the idea that if mages have even a bit of freedom or are treated like people, abominations will be rampant or another tevinter will occur. The game disproves this since we don't see ANY abominations among the free mages even though people claim this will occur. Funny how the game makes it seem like all the paranoia of pro-templars is proven to be nothing.
