The rebellion will still get conscripted/slaughtered by Corypheus. It's no better than reforming the templars.

The idiots that followed Corypheus deserve their fate. The martyrs that died fighting him will be honored through the true reform of the Circles and Seekers. Mages will live a lot more freely and with less scrutiny due in part to their sacrifice.

Eww, time travel.

At least the Templar mission stays within the boundaries of the lore.

You have terrible tastes, tbh.

I'm sorry to burden your existence by liking things that you don't.

Not nearly enough for me, sad to say. The templars are soldiers, and those who die fighting have fulfilled their role. If anyone didn't go red, they'll have ensured that the last action ever undertaken by the Templar Order was at least better than the previous thousand years.

The banter you posted works in my favor. According to it, the mages who remain alive in Redcliff are thus either willing to serve Tevinter or just too scared to run.

Which is understandable; as least in regards to the second group; but not praiseworthy.

No it doesn't, because it's referencing an event that hasn't happened yet by the time you reach Redcliffe, and doesn't happen at all if you choose to do In Hushed Whispers.

Again, you're trying to make a statement no less asinine than "Clearly, all those who remain at Therinfal are there because they have no problems with corrupted Lyrium or serving ancient Magisters".

So, what you mean is that we really don't know why Fiona was imprisoned. It could have been for any reason, not necessarily an heroic or selfless one.

There's not a single person in that prison that was placed there for anything else.

but the templar mission is just so much more fun than the mage one

Red Wedding vibes. attempted possession, burning an Envy homonculus demon to a crisp

compared to time travel and 3edgy5me Leliana

Siding with the templars feels like drinking antifreeze and razor blades.

Sadly no, templar supporters just have to go around saying how their side is now superior in every way to the mage side even though I prefer the mage side. Mage supporters get free mages and templar supporters actually get someone decent. Both sides get what they want yet apparently templar supporters have been the minority for far too long and feel the need to stroke their egos on how "better" they feel everything about the templar side is.

No, the Templars were functioning as soldiers. What they are supposed to be is something completely different. They're main purpose is to fight evil magic and protect mages from the mundane population.

The whole point of Therinfal is to decide whether they go back to that or disbanding them because their mission has become too corrupted. Whatever you decide, adding them into the Inquisition and thus under it's watchful eye is better for mages in the long run.

And here I view the whole issue as a choice between time travel with Dorian or having Cole help you out of your own head.

you must be great fun at parties

a thread dedicated to the templar/mage choice, and we can't say why we prefer one to the other without it being arrogant boasting

I wonder how many people would still hate the mage side if either tevinter forcibly captured the mages rather than a deal and/or fiona wasn't the leader.

Anybody that thinks time travel plotlines aren't the best should just leave the rest of their opinions at the door instead of continuing to reveal how terrible their taste is.

Considering I'm not:

A ) a templar supporter

or

B ) Someone that cares about your opinion,

go right ahead. I don't mind.

Funny since the mage ending with Leliana as divine says that the mages form their own independent circle system and are widely accepted throughout Thedas. Seems better than anything the templar endings provide.
