Seriously though, just so many holes with the Mage quest. I know that the Breach changes rules therefore time travel but... I'm more surprised why Cassandra or the Inquisitor didn't question why Fiona was twenty feet away from the Lord Seerker when their respective factions were at war. As far as morale (and morale alone) killing or capturing Fiona would have been a huge victory for the Templars and a major blow to the mages (though probably better for them in the long run).
Because its not Fiona, its the Envy Demon.

Actually it's speculated to have been time travel now since it makes no sense for that to be Envy

I ‘m playing the Templar side for the first time; I like it so far. Cole's introduction is much better-- than him just randomly appearing at Haven while it is under siege lol. In my opinion, Dorrian was a much better companion in "In Hushed Whispers". I do worry about the long term consequences of allying with the Templars. Mainly because of their so called "faith is the greatest of virtues" tripe.

Nah that doesn't work. The Envy Demon has to learn enough about the person they're imitating to take their place. Unless the real Fiona was at Val Royeaux in which case that still doesn't answer my question.

That's why you gotta conscript. Nobody should be offering free alliances to these factions.

its make no senso for time travel. Why only Fiona was affected? How she left and come back to Redcliff without being engaged by the templars? Why she was alone in Val Royeaux near a contingent of templars? How no one recognized her in Val Royeaux?Actually it's speculated to have been time travel now since it makes no sense for that to be Envy
The envy demon was there, he can change his appearence, you were already expected in Redcliff and if you do Champion of the Just, the Demon is surprised that you went there, so I cant see how its more logical for "time travel" explanation.

It was part of a larger scheme to funnel the Inquisitor towards Redcliffe and eliminate them, so it was either some kind of projection of Fiona, or a Fiona from a separate timeline that no longer exists. Perhaps a version of her was sent into the future by Alexius under orders to invite the Inquisitor to Redcliffe. Of course, by those same rules (according to the game at least) that should have been the same version you meet later in Redcliffe.

I'm going to post this again.
Unless Fiona was in Val Royeaux (which still doesn't make sense) the Envy Demon could not masquerade as her.

no its doesnt, its only capture to impersonate better, until no one can dintinguish him from the original.Nah that doesn't work. If you do the mage side, you get a war table mission about a demon who can change his appearence, he doesnt need to capture to change, just to study.

Huh, I guess. That would certainly explain why she'd be down the block from the people who's got her on their Most Wanted list. Still doesn't explain Cass' or the Inquisitor's idiot ball. I mean I would've been like, "WTF? Are you crazy or stupid?".

Strange, I never got that mission at all. Bug?

Better Question:
Why didn't Alexius just rewind to the Conclave itself and stop Corypheus from both proverbially and literally dropping the ball?

Because he can only go as far back as the Breach itself.

Thing is, there was a a war table mission about a demon taking the form of people. In fact,it managed to look like some of the advisers before it was killed. There being more than one envy demon isn't too farfetched, especially since they like to imitate those in power.
We only saw Fiona for a few secs. So it wasn't necessary to get her personality down to a T since it was just a brief interaction. Its been a while, but I always though Fiona seemed pretty harsh when she 1st spoke to me

I allied with the mages and never got a war table mission about going to therinfall. Wouldn't surprise me if it was a bug as I also haven't gotten the mission to reconcile Celene and Michel despite pretty much being at the end of the game.

The game as a whole is a lot better if you just do Champions of the Just and pretend the time-traveling shenanigans never happened.
It's the first time I hope Bioware retcons something.

They had to, otherwise he'd have no way of explaining why he didn't just go back and save his wife from dying and his son from catching the Blight.

And also why the game and period is not called Alexius Age.
