Leliana's not an idiot. I can't imagine that she wouldn't have a succession plan.

Also, Inquisition is overall a significantly more optimistic game than the previous two.

The only way I buy that ending is if the Maker is real (which I think is the case) and that it's His will. Otherwise it completely falls apart. The people that like that ending can always fall back on that.

I'm still waiting to aid the True Divine and the True Chantry.

I wonder if we can focus more on other political stories then the Mage vs Templars

Hopefully. That issue's wrapped up now.

Nah. People in Thedas are just a bit smarter than people like Vivienne give them credit for.

Mike Laidlaw:I would say we've covered most of the South, I think we've covered the Chantry enough. But I do want to look more toward the North, I want to see what happens to nations like Tevinter, Rivaine, and do more with the Qunari. We're going to go with the same process we did with Inquisition, which was where we have a core story idea that starts to form and drive where we're heading next... the darkspawn, they're still nowhere resolved, there's still multiple arch-demons underground waiting to be woken up by them, there's still demons on the far side of the Veil. Nobody really knows what happened to the Elves. The Tevinter Imperium is still locked in a war with the Qunari. There's so much we could do."

something we both agree on :P

I am curious what sort of internal conflicts are looming for Tevinter, baring scheming magisters.

Anderfels has the grey-warden civil war

Nevarra has the looming succession crisis

Rivian has the conflict between the Qun, the kingdom of Rivain and the local seers

Antivia has the civil war(is that still going on?)

While Tevinter has the Qun, what do they have as an internal conflict looming?

Antiva has a civil war? Don't you mean Zevran vs the Crows?

yea, I am not sure if is over or not by the current day.  It started sometime after the start of the new age, the wiki isn't clear when. There at least 3 queens all waged war to become ruler of Antivia.  I figure it might be over, but not sure.

I wanted to Ally with both the Mages and Templars. Heck you could have used Alexius' time machine thing to forge an alliance that way. Nothing is impossible. It would've made the came more interesting that only giving you two options that affect the rest of the game.

Even Bioware thinks that the Templar side is better!

After all, it affords those extra bonus, permanent stats to the Inquisitor not available on the Mage side! Hahaha.

During the templar quest, it's possible to get three +1 stat bonuses.

It's not like you have to do much exploring, either. Most of it's basically a corridor in layout, and the bonuses are in rooms to the side.

Templars easy, They are a well trained professional army far less likely to succumb to demonic posession, They are looked upon more favorably by the public so it will do wonders for your diplomacy to have them on side considering they are viewed as hero's (All your companions confirm this if you recruit them). If you're someone desireous of mage freedom you can still get them their freedom by siding with the Templars.
But most importantly in the epilogue the mages always leave you, you can convince the templars to stay by your side and make up the core of your army.

My character at first went to the mages because Fiona seemed the more reasonable sort compared to the Lucius and was just focused on sealing the Breach, then I find out a magister pretty much enslaved them (Fiona being an idiot) and that he was responsible for messing with the fade rifts at Redcliff with time magic and could potentially mess up the world.  I felt that was more important than reports on something wierd happening to the templars.  I ended conscripting the mages, mainly because they were out of control due to weak leadership (Fiona) than any desire to pick a side.

On my second playthrough, I picked the templars because the mages seemed fine (I didn't go to Redcliff and find the time altering portals) while we were getting reports on something fishy about the templars.  I ended up conscripting them because I felt there was no good people to lead them (Ser Barras died on me.).

This current playthrough for me, I am going just ally with the templars instead of conscript them because I'm going to ensure that Ser Barras survives this time.  I'll do one playthrough where I ally with the mages but I don't think I'll ever be able to actually pick it again after that due to how weak the mage rebellion leadership is.

Actually, I think they lost some of that reputation with how they behaved in the war before DAI and in the game itself.  Both sides are in the crapper as far as reputation goes in my opinion but it's up to the inquisition to salvage one side or the other.

Mages. The only reasons to side with the Templars is a) Calpernia > Samson and B) Calpernia's sweet sweet staff #lootlust
