OK, so it's 1/26 and the game refuses to unlock. Says that it's not the release date. O_o

Canada/US release is... ummm... today?

Hi There,

For North America, try around 10am pacific time for your unlock on the game. Let me know how it goes.

those are the dates which are build into the release control mechanism. if your online vendor is telling you another date, they are not correct and havent passed on the information correctly.

we are also seeing issues with FIREWALLS. can you try turning your hwardware and windows firewall completely off for when you try to authenticate (then you can turn them back on).

What we have seen is that the authentication token which is being sent to the customer is getting filtered out in certain areas via the firewall

It might be more prudent to just do a search for EAAccessInstaller.exe and then run the commandline on it accordingly

I dont understand what you expect us to do. We are working on narrowing down the issue. to...as you say "catch this in testing" we would have to validate every regional ip block in the world manually. there is a very small percentage of people affected by this issue - but trust me WE FEEL YOU. i personally havent left work in days, trying to narrow down many issues.

we think this stems from the fact that certain regions are not recognized by the authenticator as being in north america. so for example, Lasagna42 (who lives in new york) ip should be recognized as an IP given out to residents of New York. This is apparently not happening. This is what we are trying to look into.

now, we arent looking for sympathy and we expect you to be infuriated. what we are, however, is asking you to please know that we are working on this - and spamming how much you hate us/want people to rot in a gutter does NOT help the situation. please try to limit the discussion to constructive comments.
