This directly runs the game avoiding potential configuration errors.

For those that got the product through D2D etc. please try:
1) Open a command prompt
2) Go to ME 2 directory
3) Go to software subdirectory
4) Type the following command:
EAAccessInstaller.exe /s/dir "C:\\\\Program Files\\\\Electronic Arts\\\\Mass Effect 2\\\\binaries"
(With the appropriate path to the ME2 binary directory).

I feel your pain, honestly I do, but can we not veer off topic for the time being.
When something is supposed to be working and is not is one thing.
Questioning Corporate policy is another thing, if it wouldn't be too much to ask, can you relegate that complain to another thread please so we can focus on the issue at hand? Thanks!

This is not purchase date unless you purchased after the first time you could download.
Different time unlocks is just like movies that release on different days in different countries.
