I got my download from EB games, im in Denver, its 7pm on the 27th and I cant play? why

I to am staring at a Release date failed message, and I am in Mississippi, which, tot he best of my limited geographic knowledge, is in the united states, which to best of limited ME 2 knowledge is, able to play the game.



I see all of these neat workarounds, like unplugging the router, etc, and yes, I am bout to do that. However, I just want to say, that it is rediculous that I have to do this.



This is the FIRST time that I ahve ever had a gripe about a bioware game BTW, and this is a big one.

For a quick recap: I have uninstalled the game, then reinstalled using the same download from yesterday. Nothing. Now I've re-downloaded the entire 9GB file (over an hour) for a complete reinstall and guess what??? The same @?&!ing thing is happening. I'm convinced it has to do with the activation key I received, but seeing is how NO ONE from EA will get back to me, I guess I'm just screwed.



Thanks for dropping the ball, Bioware/EA

Turning off the firewalls did nothing for me. Can someone please send me one of these messages in my inbox that seems to be fixing everyone else's problem? This is ABSURD. I live in New York, bought this game via download from EA, and it still doesn't work. I'm unbelievably angry and frustrated. How does this happen? How does it take days to fix? Eliminate this god damned "realse date" checker thing through a patch.



Just tell me how to fix this ****ing thing. Seriously.

Every time I try to log on and get this same goddam "Release Date Error" message I feel like killing someone. Can you please tell me what you're doing to fix it? YOu seem to have given some other posters explanations on how to fix it, now tell me. And don't tell me about the firewalls. It doesn't work.

I bought the game from D2D and just installed it today. I live in the US and whenever I try to play it gives me the release date check failure. Is there any real solution to this or are we just going to have to wait for a fix.

Almost a full 2 days past when I was supposed to be playing ME2.. I swear it's like every single Bioware game I buy makes me regret buying it.. Hell ME1 is still glitchy as ****.. Spend 60 bucks to be able to play a game and instead I get to spend that time looking through a self help forum because we can't seem to get any help.. Sick and tired of these releases that run like **** if you can even get it to run

finding a no-cd crack will let you play however my trusted site has yet to have one on it

Tried yet again. Amazingly, it didn't work. Since you aren't fixing it, why don't you let us know what to do? Should we cancel payment to EA? I think I'm doing that tonight if you haven't fixed it, or at least told us what's going on, by then.

Definitely true, but it relieves some of my aggression.  They screwed this up, and I'm pissed.  This makes me feel a little better. 

And why have they only been working on a fix for several hours?  This has been a problem for a couple of days, right?

right but it took this forum a day to get anyone's attention, from what i gather this problem is actually a very small population of the people having activation issues. I did the D2D DL and had it installed before 5PM EST yesterday, still watching this thread : /

That blows, dude. Doesn't that drive you nuts? I mean, we're not talking about random crashes here, that maybe didn't get caught during testing. I don't get upset at that stuff; Fallout was one of my favorite games, and it was buggy as hell. We're talking about turning the ****ing thing ON. I find that they didn't have this ready to go ASTOUNDING. And how long could it possibly take to fix? Just eliminate the requirement of having to verify the release date!! That's all! How hard is that?

Well.. why don't they post that there is a problem somewhere, and that they're working on it, i thought until now that i was alone with this problem..

there's still several countries that are not able to activate the game until the 29th, so they're not going to just remove the date checker. It's a way for them to cut down on the game cracking, not that it helped. Game was cracked the moment people could preload lol

Yeah, it didn't. So: how's it coming, Bioware? You going to fix this game so that we can play for two seconds, maybe? Or at least let us know (1) what the problem is; (2) what you're doing to fix it; and (3) approximately when it'll be fixed? Come on! I know you love surprises. We all do. But EA insisting that it's last week was enough of a suprise for me. Take a minute out of your busy day of breaking products and give us an update of how this fix is coming. That would be so sweet.

My favorite part of this nightmare is the way it asks you "are you SURE you want to cancel the release date check?" right after, for the hundred thousandth time, has refused to grant you access to the game. I'm starting to not like this game. Strange.

Wow! Tried to log on again and, wouldn't you know it, it's telling me that the game hasn't been released in New York yet! It's still insisting, despite all available evidence, that it's actually the day before yesterday. Crazy.



So how about telling us what you're doing to fix it, Bioware? Tell us what the problem is? Tell us approximately when it'll be fixed? That would be swell, don't you think?
