Being an eternal optimist, I tried to start the game again. Lo and behold, I get the release date error. I've got an idea: Bioware, why not give us an update? Let us know what's going on, when we can expect this increasingly stupid seeming game to work?

I'll be damned - it didn't work again! I was sure it was going to work that time. Hey Bioware: how about an updated? Might be a good idea, what do you think?

That's right... inconvenience your paying customers by adding all sorts of stupid protection schemes that pirates crack the same day anyway. Way to go Bioware/EA!

Yeah, this was really a great idea. Protects the game so well, I can't even play it. Glad I paid for it. I've got an awesome idea, though: how about an update, Bioware? You working on this? Not? When is it going to be fixed?

Why still no info on this? How about this: when a game is released, delete the release date checker from the packet of files you receive from EADM.

I know, I know. That's too much like right.

Hey! This piece of crap didn't work again!

Know what I just realized? Bioware has done what scientists around the globe have assured us is impossible: they're moving the world back in time! They are. Follow me: according the Release Date Checker, yesterday it was actually Monday. Today is actually two days ago. Tomorrow is going to be three days in the past. And this will go on forever, apparently, since we can't get a statement from Bioware telling us what's going on. Best sixty bucks I ever spent.

Seems the only way to get their attention is to threaten to reverse your CC charges. Is that true? Is that what it takes for you to sit up and take notice?

I hope whomever is responsible for this, loses their job. I hope they become homeless, and slowly wither away and expire in a filthy gutter.

Guys, guess what! I tried to run the game.... and it told me the game wasn't actually released yet! Amazing, I know. Judging by the posting on this thread, you'd have though the game worked like a charm.

Bioware: update! NOW! What's going on?

OK, that may be taking it a bit too far. We're all angry and frustrated here. That's understandable. I'm sure they're working on it as we speak, and that's great.

Still, we would appreciate an update if nothing else. Could we please just be told why we still can't use a product we paid $50 for almost two days ago?

I dont understand what you expect us to do. We are working on narrowing down the issue. to...as you say "catch this in testing" we would have to validate every regional ip block in the world manually. there is a very small percentage of people affected by this issue - but trust me WE FEEL YOU. i personally havent left work in days, trying to narrow down many issues.

we think this stems from the fact that certain regions are not recognized by the authenticator as being in north america. so for example, Lasagna42 (who lives in new york) ip should be recognized as an IP given out to residents of New York. This is apparently not happening. This is what we are trying to look into.

now, we arent looking for sympathy and we expect you to be infuriated. what we are, however, is asking you to please know that we are working on this - and spamming how much you hate us/want people to rot in a gutter does NOT help the situation. please try to limit the discussion to constructive comments.

Far out - got an update through constant whining! Thanks, Michael. Don't take it personal - you know we're just pissed, bored, and letting off steam. We wouldn't be screaming bloody murder if we didn't like Bioware games so much. Or me at least - no doubt I'm the worst offender, here.

That being said, can't give you constructive comments - can't turn on the game, got nothing constructive to offer. Hence the **** session.

Thank you for an update. I, at the very least, appreciate knowing that something is being done.

What is the trouble you're having with IPs? Anything to do with our ISPs?

Unfortunately, it is not that easy and it is not by ISP.

If it's not working properly, why not just disable it? So you guys screwed up, fix it and test it on your next game... don't lock out paying customers for anti piracy's sake. I'm sure the game was already on the torrents an hour after it was released.
