I think EA is just f*cking with us. I just waited in their live chat "queue" for ANOTHER 30 minutes, and it got canceled AGAIN, saying that no agents are available.. I don't know whether to laugh or cry at this point.

Oh well, looks like we all will be able to play eventually. But I sure as hell won't buy anything from EA again.

I waited an hour or so to hear back from D2D support and their answer was... contact EA support, which seems to be absolutely fracking useless right now based on what has been posted here.

I'm not really seeing much about this problem on other boards either, I would have figured there would be people raging about it on GameFAQs or something, but this is really the only place I see this being discussed. I haven't looked too far though.

Finally got through to an EA live chat rep, he gave me a new activation code and told me to reinstall the game. I got the distinct feeling that he's missing the point, but doing it right now, and making him wait with me..

I ordered the Deluxe Edition from GameStop, got an email fro the pre-down load and all of the Collector gear but no activation code. Is any one else having issue with this?

I am. I received the e-mail saying "PURCHASE INFORMATION A license to use your game has
been automatically issued to you." but there is no cd-key anywhere to be found. When I realized I had no cd-key I checked my gamestop digital download shopping cart and it says my order status from the 24th is caputred, however, there is a new game order in pending status from today at 9:36 am which I did not make.

If you figured it out or if anyone can help please let me know.

Is D2D digital Deluxe Edition the common factor here or did some of you get it elsewhere/ get the standard version?

@Zombie: Wish I knew what the common factor was, but the whole idea of a release date check failure is just so incredibly stupid. Why?? Because BIOWARE, you should just release the damn game at the same time for EVERYONE instead of playing this regional politics pitting everyone against one another and ensuring that people TRY to illegally put copies up for the grabbing on ......torrentsssssss

We were having the same problems with the Impulse version. EACore_App.ini in the binaries folder wasn't being updated with the correct paths after installation was done. Check and see if it has valid paths in the core.agents.X.path lines.

D2D seems to be the common factor. I got the standard edition. What's particularly aggravating is that D2D already had a system in place for withholding activation codes until the release date.

Particularly since d2d already had a system in place for withholding activation codes until the release date arrived.

Thats a very good point too

OK people, is it the awc.dll error (which has something to do with the way Direct2Drive is installing EA Activation) or are you actually not able to get past the release date check? I suspect people are getting past the release date check only to hit the awc.dll error.

Can someone with this problem list out the contents \\Mass Effect 2\\Binaries\\ folder that Direct2Drive is installing? And possibly the contents of EACore_App.ini

A workaround right now would be to use your product key within EA Download Manager and activate and download your game from there.

Same thing with me. Wasted +1 hour waiting for the chat, the agent sent me a new activation code, reinstalled the software and... still fails to pass the release verification. The agent asked me to wait antoher 24 hours before trying to activate the game, due this regional cr@p release... I've wasted my last vacation day waiting for this thing to work... F#$%K!!!!
