I know that certain materials will remove class restrictions from armor.

 

Does that also apply to upgrades (gloves and boots)?

 

I'd like to wear Battlemage Armor with Prowler boots...

Heavy armour only takes heavy armour upgrades.

One slightly useless thing is you can remove the class restriction for shields and give them to mages and rogues.

Badly, they can't use staffs as they're 2 handed they just hold them funny and become useless.
