I just finished this game this morning , I was a Male Rogue and I was having fun...until Act 3 started , so I just rushed things (putting it on casual , even though I made it that far on nightmare) and finished it so I can play the new game that got released.
I'm about an hour in and I'm having fun but---I keep thinking about Dragon Age 2 and part of me feels like I should go back and finish it right. Once Act 3 started I did nothing but story missions I skipped out on companion missions the real flesh and bone on what makes RPG's so good. Become something different like a Shield Warrior or a Mage (even though everything seems to be immune to everything on nightmare >.>)
So my question to those here...should I go back and finish Dragon Age 2 again but do it right? I do everything that I can hell even the DLC?
I thought I wanted this game over with but ,I feel like playing it again

Why do it right ![]()
Start new game and do all things you were unable to do while playing this game before.Things like go fully "Anti-Qunari" and side with Petrice,pi$$ off every one of your companion, kill them in end, betray Isabela if you were unable before or actually fight for her if you always handed her over to Qunari before xD,try to kill every Qunari instead of just dueling Arishok or duel just Arishok if you always chose to kill them all,be "diplomatic"(I know this is what I'm unable to be because I love most being just sarcastic or even forceful but being nice and angel is not what I can do xD),romance characters you hate and you could never bring yourself before to romance them,do romances you are always unable to(for example if you always go for gay romances try straight ones,or if you always go for straight then try gay ones)...
Things like that if you wish to replay game...so there is no reason of you to do it right, just do things you were unable to do before ![]()

There is no "should" here. If you want to, do so -- obviously.

Yeah, definitely.
I did the same the first time around and missed out on quite a bit. At the very least you want to do the "Arwiegan Scrolls" sidequest, resolve Merrill, Fenris and Varric's companion quests and do "Gamlen's Greatest Treasure".
Of course, I did this before the Keep existed, because I wanted an "ideal" game-state to export (ah, the foolishness of too much spare time), but it's worth doing in and of itself.

I did every side-quest up till Act 3 , so I missed out on the last side comanion quests D: It sucks too I already had a taste of the new game but going back now will really help me understand a few things.
AKA the Red Lyrium stuff , I saw they showed it in the new game and I still don't know what the hell that stuff is so...it might help me if I play DA2 again and finish the side quests in Act 3 I skipped out on.

If you mean on DA:I then only thing backwards that could help you understand better plot is to play DA2 Legacy DLC.
Don't click on this unless you wish huge spoiler...

Spoiler
It's mainly story elements I need to get in touch with , Red Lyrium and the DLC Legacy. I hear Varric's side mission in Act 3 helps understand Red Lyrium a bit more and the Legacy is also something I need to finish for even more major plot elements in the new game.
While doing that I might as well finish all the companion missions , I mean why not right lol

Yup I forgot about Varric as well xD
So if you didn't do it before then I do highly suggest doing that mission. But Legacy is still most important part from DA2 that involves DA:I's whole story plot in fact.So these two are most recommended for understanding it.
And yup,why not to do companion's missions in process as well xD(Isabela's personal mission was most fun one)

If I wasn't going to do it right then I wouldn't do it at all. Never half ass anything you do IMO.
TLDR
Go do it right!
Also give the Arishok what he wants.

Yeah I kinda got annoyed during that fight , I wasn't ready for that fight to be as hard as it was and ended up saying bye bye to Isabela lol

This isn't uncommon. I didn't actually start to really like Dragon Age 2 until my second playthrough. This is kind of its curse, I think. And why it first got poor reception but is now remembered rather fondly by many fans.

I hated DA2 when I first started playing it. I was on Facebook and Tumblr ranting about it to anyone who would listen.
And then I don't know what happened. At this point I have six completed playthroughs and I'm working on a seventh on nightmare mode with a mage Hawke and only Fenris in my party.
It's not a bad game. It's just different; an acquired taste, if you will. The problem is that people, myself included, made the mistake of comparing it to DA:O. I'd honestly really like to see Bioware give DA2 another go one day--nothing extreme, but updated textures, more varied maps, extra scenes and companion dialogue if it's possible. That'd be neat. It's not going to happen, but it'd be neat.

If DA2 had a year or two more of development time i am sure that it would be an amazing game. In its current state it would have been better if it was 10 hours shorter and an expansion, as Bioware actually wanted. EA and money ,gotta love that. I have replayed Dragon Age 2 quite a few times, and while i do not enjoy it as much as i do Origins it is a pretty good game. Worth playing multiple times.

Lets face it, DA2 biggest problem was that it followed DAO. DA2 was the first of the Dragon Age series I played and it is my favorite. I am not saying it is the best, just that it is my favorite. I can see why DAO is considered a classic (other than having a mute hero and everyone else is able to talk). But DA2 does have some points in its favor over DAO.

Did you like DA2? If you did I say go for it. If it was just meh for you then I would say just try to reload a save. If all you are thinking about is inquisition while playing da2 you won't enjoy it as much. Similarly if all you are thinking about is da2 while playing inquisition, you won't enjoy it as much.
Personally I loved DA2 (played it literally 6 times and did everything) and usually appreciate my 2nd PT of RPGs more than the first because I already have an idea of who to bring along, best classes, builds, etc.

I never even thought twice about it. She was....well her. And I loved the Arishok. I would have rolled out with the Qunari if I could have.
