Take out flashfire, its a bad ability that has no business being in your limited ability slot
Gathering Storm is currently bugged, dont take it
Get rid of Mind blast, not worth it, if you want to escape enemies just use Fade step
mark of the rift is better focus ability than firestorm, because it will do more damage and works on fire resistant enemies ( there are lot of them)
Cole is bad choice for team mates because atrocious DW rogue AI, he will die quickly
Get fade step from winter tree, excellent mobility skill
Static cage+ is the one of the best ability in the game, abuse it
Energy barrage is excellent single target damage, use it to trigger static cage damage and flaspoint

As a Rift mage, your main advantage is constant weakness effect that feed you mana, so you get unlimited mana and can chain casting spells, esp with flashpoint and clean burn

I've counted 31 Ability points, indeed a Lv 30 build. The problem is that there is no way you could get such a high level in this game and even if there were, there wouldn't be anything left to be done, not even a peasant asking you to find his cow. The highest level enemy I know of is a level 23 Dragon.

I am currently at level 22, 70 hours played in this playthrough and realistically I can't see myself fishing the game above level 25, though 23-24 is the most likely. At this point, Nightmare difficulty isn't much of a challenge either, not even the Dragons. An optimal build now isn't that relevant anymore.

The toughest part in the game is between Level 4 to 10. That is the moment when optimal builds are necessary.

well i know its been a long time but i did get lv.16 only by doing basically everything in the area where you have to get your 1st mount (and by doing everything i meant all quests indoor and outdoors ^^)

so, i though it was possible to pretty much get at this lv.

truth is i was playing on my cousins ps3 (yeah, computer broke a week before release =S) and since he live far away from me, well didnt get the chance to test that build. but nevermind because in a few week will be getting an op computer =)

so, i will know if this build is viable, with patches and everything (yeah, i played in the very firsts day the game was release), but this build was really mean for people who are really deep into doing every single quests like me ^^.

like i said i got lv.16 by doing every single quests in the 1st area you can go from the map (i think its near redcliff or something when you got to speak to a priest or something), so i ASSUME that if one is willing to go through that build he/she is going to be doing a whole lot of quests ^^'

Make builds for lv15, not 30. You'll enjoy yourself a lot more in the game. You can grow prety fast to 15, and if you have a solid base and playstyle at that level, all other levels are additional sweetness.

I've read somewhere that you can get some ability points for your Inky. I think there about four to five quests to get you some extra points. And sadly, even if you're a completionist, a playthrough may end at around level 25 tops. Apart from that, I think other comments mentioned the stuff you can take out.I would have to echo that most builds are already stable at around level 15 to 17. Anything else is pretty much gravy.

Their are 3 amulets of power for the inquisitor and 1 from inquisition perk. assuming you play a human and reach a least lv20 you should have 26 skill points to spend.
