By the end of the game the Inquisition - assuming the player hasn't been lazy - has the gratitude of both Orlais and Ferelden's monarch along with forts, properties, noble support, troops and various other resources scattered across both continents. Thing is this was meant to combat Corypheus, so now that he's dead and gone (hopefully) what happens now? Do they disband? If not what's their role? They're practically their own superpower as the ending indicates so that might cause the nations to become paranoid and look over their shoulder if not outright withdrawing support altogether out of fear that the Inquisition could become too powerful.

So yeah, what's their new purpose? Do they act like interpol now or something?

I imagine that we might be getting story DLC to expand upon it. However you really can't easily disband something that big with a snap of your fingers. There's merchants relying on you, people who have come to live under your banner, a standing army that while has lost a good amount of people who want to put down their weapons still has others who wish to stay. The list really does go on.

Basically they have become something akin to the real world Knights templars at the peak of their power and influence. Lets hope they end up a little better than their counterparts.
