Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I have been unable to find an answer.

I have seen several people mentione speaking to EA support personel but I cannot ifnd any contact info.  If there was contact info for bioware that would be even better.  I would prefer a phone number if possible.  Can someone please provide this information?

I am suffering from the same problem many are regarding activating the Cerberus network code on a EA account (because it says to) rather than the bioware account used when registering the pre-order bonus.  And of course, as they are seperate accounts they aren't linked so I cant access the cerberus network in game.

Thanks in advance.

Website is http://support.ea.com/.

Might check the manual to see if there's a phone number.

Thanks for the info. I found the chat option and now waiting in line.

There are a few threads out but alot of them seem to be on the Cerberus code not working rather than the issue of linking accounts. Perhaps a mod or someone else can assist me in the meantime.

My problem:

Pre-order bonus like armor is on one account (this bioware account) and the Cerberus code is activated on a previous EA online account.

This happened because I followed the instructions for registering the pre-order items on the bioware community site linked from masseffect.com. Once I hit the bioware site, it prompted me to login and I did with my existing bioware account I used for DA. Everything works fine, I download the DLC.

Now I start the game and it prompts me about the Cerberus code and that I need to login to an EA online account. I think it odd that they couldnt let me use the bioware account but whatever, I have an old EA account and figure this login is only for the Cerberus stuff since I already downloaded the pre-order DLC. So I login with my EA online credentials (seperate email address) and put in my code. Works fine but now it cant recognize my pre-order DLC.

I understand now that this is because it must be the same account and the bioware accounts are actually EA accounts......but that is not made clear to the user. They dont say login with your bioware account or EA online account. Nor do they say you must login to the same account where you have already redeemed any pre-order codes. Nor does the bioware account section on this site make it clear that a bioware account is really an EA account.

So what I need is one of these things:

1) Link EA account with bioware account (less preferable)

2) Un-redeem the Cerberus code with my EA account and activate it with my bioware account now that I understand it is an EA account.

3) Be provided a new Cerberus code I can use for my bioware account and then I can cancel my old EA account if they are paranoid about me having access to two sets of cerberus content.

4) Refund for $15 dollars then I will happily purchase a new Cerberus code for my bioware account for $15 dollars.

If mod is able to do this, I would be very grateful.

In case someone is curious I purchased the store standard PC version.

Thanks

There's a lot of us with your exact same problem dizzy. I'm one of them. There's a sticky about it, but I'm also waiting in line.

Well, I only mention it because the other threads seems to be focused on the code not working rather than just being confused and using multiple accounts. If I find anything useful out in chat I will let you guys know.

I am not hopeful though - I have never had any positive experiences with EA.

I spoke to EA and after this conversation they are going to have some senior tech contact me within the next two days...

Carol: Hi, my name is Carol. How may I help you?
<my name>: hi
<my name>: I have a issue with the Cerberus code for Mass Effect 2
<my name>: Give me a moment to explain please
<my name>: I have an existing bioware account that I used for Dragon Age
<my name>: I also have a old EA online account
<my name>: I registered my pre-order codes with my bioware account because that was the instruction according to the pre-order instructions.
<my name>: and linked from the masseffect.com website
<my name>: The DLC downloaded fine and then I launched the game
<my name>: Upon starting, I was prompted to login to the Cerberus stuff. Prompted for a EA online account
<my name>: It said EA online account, not bioware or EA online account
<my name>: so I did, put in my Cerberus code
<my name>: then I came to realize looking ont he forums that the account actually needed to be the bioware account where my other pre-order stuff was registered to
<my name>: So I need to have that code switched from the EA online account to the bioware account
<my name>: or be issued a new Cerberus code
<my name>: so I can register it with the bioware account myself
<my name>: or a refund for 15 dollars then I will puchase a new Cerberus code myself
Carol: Please provide me email id.
<my name>: for which account? The bioware account or the EA online account?
<my name>: bioware - <bioware email address>
<my name>: EA - <ea email address>
Carol: Please allow me few minutes.
<my name>: Sure, no problem
Carol: I have made some necessary changes to your account. Please login to the game and check serberus.
<my name>: I should be able to see it listed in my account info for the bioware account shouldnt i?
<my name>: under my DLC
<my name>: I know there are two DLC that come with the code
Carol: Please download cerberus through ingame.
<my name>: Do I login with my <bioware email address> email?
<my name>: do I need too input the code again?
<my name>: *to
Carol: no,
<my name>: ok, please standby
<my name>: I logged into the <bioware email address> account when prompted by Cerberus login
<my name>: it is asking me to redeem a code or puchase a new one
<my name>: I tried the code again and it says its already in use
<my name>: Carol?
Carol: This is the new code for cerberus : <new cerberus code>
<my name>: Great!
<my name>: Please standby and I will give you confirmation
Carol: Ok.
<my name>: hmm
<my name>: it accepted it then asks me to login again and again tells me to enter a code or puchase one
<my name>: i closed the game then and started it up again and same thing
<my name>: let me try to enter it again
Carol: Try new code in game.
<my name>: I did
<my name>: I tried inputting it a second time and now says code in use
<my name>: I put the code in the first time when you gave it to me (in game) after logging in with <bioware email address>
<my name>: I also don't see either of the DLC for Cerberus shown in the bioware account summary of my DLC
<my name>: Can you see if the code is associated with the account? Is there some kind of delay?
Carol: You have to use emailid "<ea email address>".
<my name>: But that is the whole point
<my name>: My pre-order DLC is associated to <bioware email address> on my bioware account
<my name>: I can login to <ea email address> and have access to cerberus with my original code
<my name>: but then I dont have access to any of my pre-order DLC
<my name>: I was trying to associate a cerberus code with <bioware email address>
<my name>: As it stands, currently I have to choose either cerberus or my pre-order DLC (gamestop weapons and armor)
<my name>: <bioware email address> (gamestop pre-order DLC) vs <ea email address> (Cerberus)
<my name>: The odd thing was, when I put in the second code you gave me it seemed to take it but then acted like I never did. And I did that on the <bioware email address> login in game
Carol: Please wait.
<my name>: Sure
<my name>: Thanks for your help in the matter
Carol: Please logout and login again.
<my name>: of the game?
<my name>: or my bioware account which I am currently logged in
Carol: in game.
<my name>: ok, closed game and launched it again
Carol: Yes.
<my name>: logged in as <bioware email address> and it prompts me for cerberus code or to puchase one
Carol: This is the last time, please logout and login again.
<my name>: ok
<my name>: it is still telling me that I need to redeem a code or purchase a code when I login with <bioware email address>
<my name>: we are on the same page here right in that we are trying to get cerberus to work with <bioware email address>?
<my name>: I may not be explaining this clearly but I can't use the <ea email address> email address becaue my pre-order DLC is not associated with it
<my name>: And the game itself is registered with the bioware account linked to by the masseffect.com site
Carol: I have checked your email id "<bioware email address>" and found that cerberus code is entitled.
<my name>: I know, but if you login to my bioware account
<my name>: you will see the DLC is not listed
<my name>: and when I login in game, it still prompts me
<my name>: I believe you, I just dont know why it is not taking
<my name>: is there some kind of delay?
<my name>:  http://social.bioware.com/
<my name>: if you go there and login as me
<my name>: then check the DLC content, none of the cerberus stuff shows
Carol: The code for the Cerebrus network that comes with your game should be redeemed from within the game menu. Once activated within the game, all DLC will be managed from within the in-game menu.

<my name>: thats not entirely true. If I login to that site with <ea email address> address then the two cerberus DLC show
<my name>: and even in game, when I click on "new content available" it takes me to the bioware website to download it
<my name>: just logged out of the bioware account, closed the game and logged back into the game
<my name>: same thing
Carol: I am forwarding the issue to my senior support who will get in touch with you through email and also look into it at the earliest, will that be okay with you?
<my name>: roughly what timeline are we talking here?
Carol: 24-48 hours.
<my name>: I guess
<my name>: thanks for your help anyways
<my name>: do I get a ticket #
Carol: Thanks for talking to us. Is there anything else, I may assist you with?
<my name>: I would like a ticket number actually
Carol: You will get that after this chat session through email.
<my name>: oh ok
<my name>: I guess thats it then
<my name>: oh wait
<my name>: sorry
<my name>: will they contact me at <bioware email address>
<my name>: or <ea email address>?
Carol: "<ea email address>"
<my name>: ok
<my name>: Thats it then
<my name>: thanks for your help

*sigh*

When you go to email them they ask you to choose games, etc then you will see an option to chat with a rep.

Thanks. I have very little hope this will fix anything. Think my computer just won't do it even though ME1 and Dragon Age both work fine.

Personally? Remove the Cerberus BS, just give it to anyone who logs in to the game in the first week, and sort it out in that time.

I know it doesn't seem like the best idea ever, but between work and school, when I get time to game, I want to game, not sit here on a tech support forum. I am sure we (Developers and Customers) can agree that time spent on a Tech support board could be better used somewhere else.

I'm having the exact same problem! I have two accounts cause when I logged into the game it was asking for my EA account which I assumed was a different account.

What to do...

Update to original conversation.  EA never contacted me again, but on second attempt to I got ahold of someone who was able to manually associate the code to the correct account.

FYI - EA support can resolve the issue if you manage to get ahold of them.
