-Elves look like Keebler elves.

-Qunari(race I looked forward to mostly) remind me of that devil guy from DBZ, shrek, and the ugly half orc models from nwn with their fat heads and pig ears. Qunari in DA2 look great.

-A game like this needs something that tweaks appearance after char creation.

-Why the same hairstyles??? Where is the innovation? How about long hair...or dreadlocks...etc. instead of the

same short pony tails.

-Why no earrings? Facial piercings?

-Limited selection of tattoos.

I do not know what you mean by Keebler Elves.. My Elven Mage, Arwyn is gorgeous.

As for Qunari.. I do not see the resemblance between The Qunari characters we can create and either spike the devil man, shrek or neverwinter nights half orcs who looked more like boar men than oxmen anyway.. Here is my rather charming Karaas Adaar Qunari Archer in the Inquisition Officers uniform.

Though, I agree we need something like the transformation mirror from DA:2 as well as an increase in tattoo and hair variety.. I am not sold on facial piercings or earrings.. last thing you want is to get them ripped out in a fight. Wear them around Val royeau or skyhold.. but not when you are out in the bush. Last thing you pack when you go walkabout is your jewelry..

AHHHHHHHH its a Keebler elf...run! View the qunari from side in char creation. Pig ears and fat half orc head. I was talking about dabura from dbz too.

And I don't know why there are forums like this when nothing is ever done.

you said devil guy, not demon king.. bit of a difference between spike and dabura.. I still do not see what you are complaining about in terms of a keebler elf.. no idea what a keebler elf is.. and I still do not see what you are on about in terms of the "fat half orc head". My characters turned out rather well.

I don't get it either. Aside from the bad hair choices and the not-so-great-lightning it's one of the best CCs I've seen and I have no complaints otherwise. Even with only five minutes of fiddling on the first try I couldn't be more happy with how my Lavellan turned out.

Idk about you but this qunari looks damn fine to me.

As for elves only thing I don't like is their body proportions(especially male ones),for hairs I do agree that better could be done, earrings and piercings would be cool.

But as for CC it is fine the way it is considering CC's of previous DA games...and also not to mention ME CC that is limited as hell...so this CC is paradise because you can make characters however you wish, only thing you need to make it happen is "skill" with CC.

I believe it takes skill too, but if it really requires that, they should have done a better job with defaults, offered a save feature, or allowed players to easily share creations.

I think they need to add "ID codes" like in ME fast,so codes of characters can be shared so not so skilled people or lazy ones(like myself) can get super-looking character without bothering to make them themselves.

On some aspects they really could have done better. I think everyone can agree on the lacking hair choices.

But I don't want to complain too much because as it is the CC is pretty darn good. You can create and recreate most of anything with enough effort.

THIS! When I first saw the CC promo video I was expecting there to be a save and share feature, seeing as how extensive it was. I was sad when I found out that we couldn't do that. :( Crossing my fingers that these features can still be implemented!

Elves aren't too bad.  But they are now a slight cross between DA2 elves and DA:O elves.  Less alien/cat looking for the most part but you can get a little from both sides.  Still sickly skinny on both male and female though. :( Look ok in armor, house clothes looks horrible on them.

I can honestly say I see the Orc look on Qunari.  Especially the males.  But I've seen quite varying looks on the Qunari.  Some look more human, others far far away from human.

Overall I think customization did somehow lose out in some areas.  Lack of hairstyles and overall color choices for hair and eyebrows.  Beards are also in a weird spot.  I wouldn't of mind seeing possible body size options as well even if it was only two.  Even though armor customization exists I feel they dropped more armor models for the chance of more colors (most which I feel look extremely unrealistic).

I think it's completely valid to have issues with the CC.  While I don't have the same feeling about the Qunari and the elves that you do, the hair options are really horrible, and the lighting is so weird in the CC that you look damn near completely different after you make your character.  Also, I do wish they'd find a character model and stick with it though.  While I don't think elves look bad, they need to decide if elves look like DA:O, DA2, or this mashup, and the Qunari do look different in this game.  I loved how they looked in DA2.

I think I went through the intro 5 or 6 times before I made a character that looked how I wanted them to.  It's frustrating.  Not to mention that the old ME2 problem is back on the PC and once again black hair looks bluish gray.

Just remember that the blue-black is basically Cassandra's hair. It'll look like her in-game.

It's actually Haven that has the weird coloured light. One of my Qunari with dark grey skin looked brown in Haven, and my Elf Inquisitor with black hair had brown hair in Haven. Lighting in other zones is a lot closer to the lighting in the CC.

For me this is one of the best CC's to date outside of the terrible facial hair options and some really lackluster hair choices. Seems most games tend to not invest much time in those areas for whatever reason. Even the Sims wasn't too great and needed the mods community to get some good ones.

I've been able to recreate myself and other people pretty close with it so I'm happy.

I'm fine with everything about the CC except male elf faces (just personal preference) and super limited hair options. Also Qunari are even more limited. 4 hair options and you can't even choose the horns you want with them? What if I want horns 3 with hair 2? No? No option for that?

Before this game came out I was envisioning an arishok-like look but....

The CC is fine, I've been able to make good looking male elves. But its still not better than Saint's Row CC. Now that is the best CC ever.

It takes some trying but its not impossible to make a decent inquisitor, and as for the keebler comment how does this

Look anything like this?

Actually, at least the Keebler Elves have more appropriate proportioned bodies and their arms are not broken. :P

But you guys claiming this is the best CC ever? No...maybe for DA, yes. But not for all games. I've seen free online games with better character customization.

Still, they did do better then usual for a Bioware CC.

They botched the character creator tbh.  The cheeks are the main problem.  Between the really bad lighting and having the cheek bones shaped flat and straight down off the front of the face, it is very difficult to get a character with realistic facial proportions and shape.  You can have one or the other, as with the picture of the elf posted above.  The proportions are okay but the shape is not the way a human face is shaped.  Faces are round, not flat.  The DAI CC does not allow for this.

Skin textures are also pretty bad.

Except for important NPCs.  They get special, good looking skin textures.  And hair.

The entire tutorial lighting is also terrible, so you need to run through the tutorial to really see what your character looks like.

Seriously, how hard is it to get it right?

1.  Let me create my character immediately, no cut scene or tutorial before hand (I'll give them a B+ for this one)

2.  Let me switch race/gender/class/everything in the same menu, don't make me go back to the main menu (F)

3.  Let me see my character in natural lighting and in cut-scenes as soon as possible (D-)

4.  Let me change my appearance at any time (F)

How can you still not get these basic tenants of character creation right?

Yes, new face textures will be the first mod I make as soon as we get them working.

I agree on the hairstyles.  I would have liked more styles- particularly longer or at least ones with braids.  And a way to change your appearance later in the game would be nice.  It's annoying when you notice some small thing you want to change but you can't, unless you feel like starting all over again from the beginning of the game.

Did someone asked for new hairstyles ?

If yes, you can go give your support and hugs to modders, they're on it ;)

Bioware needs to step it up with the cc.

They are at this point still stuck in 2008 tops.

They need at a minimum a char code like mass effect 2+3,

Ideally they could step into 2011 and have a download/upload to the website feature like saints row 3+4 does with an actual character archive on the website for people to browse. The char code is close though.

How about some new hairstyles????

And an in game mirror to change appearance like da2?
Or at least a barber/make up artist to change hair/facial hair/makeup. I bet they use fax instead of email for inter office communications....
