*sigh* I actually miss the braids...
i did too! The hairstyle they gave him reminds me of my brother's hair from his senior picture in 1985.
(And yes, he's my older brother.)

Finally the Loghain thread I knew I would find one here somewhere!! ![]()
Ding dong the witch is dead.
Loghain is the best Bioware character ever.
I thought I was going to hate him in the game, on my first ever play through, based on how people talked about him in the forum and various other websites (Probably butthurt Alistair fans) but straight away I ended up seeing that he was trying to do good and actually cared about Fereldan. Simon Templeman's great voice acting probably helped.
I like him a lot. It all is based on which Hawke I play.
My current WS state is my M!!Hawke with Izzy.
I'm so sorry Loghain.......
I may be a no romance Hawke WS state, or oen with Anders is dead call it my "death seeker" file
I STAND BY LOGHAIN. WE'VE NO HOPE OF VICTORY OTHERWISE.
And if Gaspard ascends to the throne, Loghain will be there as Senior Warden to the Order in Ferelden to repel the chevaliers.
(If Alistair can overcome his grudge and listen to his sound strategic advice, of course.
)
I love everything about this comment. Now I have one image of that guy shouting that at the landsmeet. This made me laugh far too much.
Hi!! Nice to see you guys/gals again! *waves* ![]()
So I just got the game installed and want a full Loghain experience in this playthrough, any suggestions of past game decisions I should make to get the most of it? Anything in DAI I should pay attention that could break my Loghain experience?
And does Loghain appear in any of the recent books?
Thanks!

I was really hoping for a Grey Warden comic book series with Loghain, Nathaniel Howe, and Bethany Hawke.

Have him do the dark ritual with morrigan, and when deciding which quest to do first between the Grey Warden/Hawke questline and settling the Orlesian throne. Settle the Orlesian throne first so Morrigan and Loghain can have a chat =)

You spelt Carver wrong

Yeah, you may like a sausage fest, but I'd like a side of female with my badassery.

Sausage fest? nah I just don't like boring companions =P
Why do I get the impression that fans of Loghain are often also fans of the Illusive Man? Anywho he tried to have my warden killed for an entire game. I aint forgiving that.

Because you're going off of RP and not the setting. Loghain is the antagonist of Origins, but in everything else he's a hero... literally. So 'he tried to kill me, **** that guy' is a shitty way to look at it. If this wasn't a RPG and Loghain was a character in a novel, series, or comic most of the people that vehemently hate him for not ego-stroking their avatar would hate him a lot less or not at all.

This is really what's going on and people need to see that lol.
My priorities for preserving are Alistair > Loghain > Stroud

Your lack of Sigrun among the group disturbs me.

I went with rule of three following Alistair's comic series. I figured the Hawke siblings could use more fleshing out since they're absent for 2/3 of DA2. Being badasses in their own right. Sigrun would be awesome though and I'm hoping that if the Calling story arc gets resolved in DA:I's expansions that she'll be a part of it. Bethany/Carver will probably never show up again in-game due to their appearance relying on the Champion's. At least in a comic it could be considered as an Elseworlds type spinoff with default Bethany/Carver.
Bioware follows their own canon when its come to comics/novels aka Alistair king ded Loghain.

Sadly, they would use Carver for an comic, as they seem to follow the default canon, were Loghain is dead and Hawke is an mage. It would be great to have an Hawke simbling cameo however. Better yet if they are romances. How cool would it be to become the champion brother/sister-in-law?
It'd be hilarious if every game from now on, there's a choice to kill Loghain. One world state could just be keeping that guy alive forever.
I'd be down.

And DC has a Black Superman and a gay Green Lantern (not from the GL Corps).
Elseworlds means it's in it's own little pocket universe with it's own timeline. It doesn't have to be restricted to canon and the writers and pencilers have the freedom to tell the story they want to.
So why not have Loghain in a comic? It'd be an 'Elseworlds' timeline.
I have adored Loghain before DA:O even launched. I loved him even before Cullen. Every play through with him alive Hawke dies, I just hope nothing happens to him in Weisshaupt.
+1 for missing his braids too.

Let's be real do you honestly think Bioware would do that?

Loghain by himself? No. Loghain with two other fan favorites? Yup.
Alistair didn't have to carry his book alone. He had help from Isabela and Varric.
