Ok, playing all routine, now a level 7 archer the failure rate for the teams I am on is so far every mission but 1 -- all PUGs

It feels like the need for cooperation is a lot higher than for ME3 because my archer has no ability to survive alone and maybe because the need for coop is higher it feels like a lot less cooperation than in ME3.

I have a slightly upgraded bow but no ability to craft anything, hasn't been that much to even salvage to pretend to craft anything.

Is this where I am supposed to be, because frankly moving up to a higher level seems like a joke of an idea but the game says I am close to being "done" with routine.

Think of Routine more like 1-12, Threatening 12-20, and Perilous to stroke your e-peen.

Since everything is based off your weapon damage also, having a good weapon will help significantly, regardless of level. If you're still using a lvl 5 common weapon, it doesn't matter what level you are, you're gonna be pretty bad.

what do you play on?  if you're on the same console I'm on I'll take you around and pull you through some threatening...if I got some friends on we can do some perilous and get your gold up if you want.  I'm doing a few things right now, but ill be playing for an hour or two.

The game is not hard...its just pretty much all equipment based.  And watch out for the archers at higher difficulties.  When you have a few good items and a decent weapon you will start tearing through the game.

I am XBoxOne

. I think a lot of this is just that, for example, I could solo non-Platinum level maps in ME3 with very low level characters ( Bronze and Silver with very basic guns for example) but that was because of guns and cover. Here, once some demons lock onto the archer I can try and do the flip and shoot thing but they eventually catch up to me and kill me because there Is no real way to avoid damage. That's just gonna be a different feel to it. This is much more party based until, as you said, the gear starts to make you invulnerable.

Plus, my allies seem to be annoying me more here because they seem to want to finish the level rather than loot the level and then finish it. ;)

yeah I don't play on or have XB1

But yeah for the most part pugging sucks.  The whole team can be at full health and they use the health font just to do it, and like you said....if I don't pick up the gold then we just aren't getting it.  Thats why it the money and xp should be split yes, but it shouldn't be even...especially if you only picked up 1 or 2 piles the entire run.

Sadly the archer doesn't get pin down, you have to wait until the aggro is established before you attack unless you have a beast bow.  They give you explosive shot which is a knockdown and can make the difference in some fights, but that and leaping shot is all u get for defense.

The legionnaire is a beast once you get the right skills and passives on him though.

If you can get lucky though you will run into a good keeper that will actually give you barrier.  It doesn't happen often with pugs, but they can make or break a run.

The one mission I finished was when the keeper was working barrier effectively. As a proportion of things I see a lot more archers and archer type things, cards is haven't unlocked, than anything else. At least half my runs have zero mages at all. The warrior who appears to be essential but no one wants to play because that role is missing in about 3/4 of my runs.

Don't worry about actually killing the boss. It is highly improbable for a bunch of lvl 1s with bad gear to kill the boss, especially if the party isn't composed well, or playing cooperatively. Just play your games, get as far as you can, get 1200 gold, buy a chest, salvage the junk, and try to craft other classes.

Archers are an extremely weapon dependent class, and unless you're very lucky you're probably running around with what's equivalent to an Avenger II right now. Bioware said from the beginning they wanted this to be a more team-oriented MP than ME3, which gives us less powerful and/or more specialized characters and enemies. You had a bad run, and that'll happen, especially early on, but as you get a feel for it and get some better equipment it'll get easier. The #1 thing you can do to help a "normal" clear rate(where you take it slow and get all the pots/chests) is to be flexible, and fill in on the missing roles in the lobby. Later on(typically when you have better equips) you'll be able to throw up a team of whatever and you can "speed run" for XP and faster clears with whatever you're best at, but until you have some good equips you're comfortable with it's best to take it a bit slower.

Some of my farming friends actually suicide on wave 5, or after completing objective in wave 4 to maximize gold/time ratio :). Don't kick yourself for losing on boss, the last wave is relatively significantly harder than the first four waves.

I am honestly shocked that people are still failing Routine regularly. All I had to do was get a little more armor and my character would take like 1/30 hp from each attack.

I think this is the primary issue with the MP at the moment. If weapons scaled to be the same level as the character currently using them, I think it would smooth things out a great deal. For example, no more lvl 1 assassins running around with a lvl 23 blue in the main hand and a lvl 21 purple in the offhand, one-shotting everything on the map while the three lvl 17+ players he's grouped with have trouble taking out a couple archers because they're each rocking lvl 1-5 common weapons that can't hurt a fly.

I'm on XBone and wouldn't mind tagging along. I like the mages. Save for Arcane. He just ruins what coop means to me. just don't expect me to run a Lego. I'm sick of hearing about the Deep Roads. Go teamwork!

Yeah, good gear helps like crazy. It's a little silly a well equipped level 1 can carry three ill-equipped level 15s, but it is what it is.
