Those of you casting the word 'troll' around or deciding it might be fun to insult the OP may want to look at your own behavior. The OP is obviously frustrated, so instead of heaping insults on him, why not try to help him out so he can enjoy the game like the rest of us?

Nah he could have asked nicely. Watch he shouldve posted the topic called Need help on Tactics. And posted. Excuse me can anyone explain tactics to me. Instead of Crying. Or he could have spent 5 mins reading the manual

I can actually understand beyondconfused's frustration. Not everyone has the same level of patience for details, especially when they just started playing the game. As you get more and more involved, in the game, however, you'll start caring more and more about the details.



Beyondconfused, that screen is not at all required for you to play the game. You said yourself, you got around just fine without it, so just ignore it (at least for now). I can almost guarantee you though that once you really get into the game, you will change your mind.

Calling people Stupid calling somone a jackass in another post and calling the game bad in your first post. I see no asking nicely.

It doesn't matter how he asked. If you're of a mind to help him, then do so. If not, then don't post. Just because you think he was rude or childish is no excuse to start flaming.

I dont know much about the tactic screen in Dragon Age, but from what little ive seen from the screenshots it seems to function in a similar way that gambits functioned in FFXII. Which was actually a very useful feature. This feature is not useless, however you have the inability to understand the feature(as you admitted yourself, you do not fully understand this game), Therefore in your case you would be correct, it is a useless feature. This feature may seem useless when fighting weak monsters, but would be incredibly useful in a hard fight. Correct me if i'm wrong on this, but it appears you can set this up to have the AI heal your team mates if they fall below a certain percent of health. How is that not useful? As far as enemy health goes you may want your allies to use use different spells after an enemy falls below a certain percentage of health. The enemy may change its tactics after it falls below a certain percent and having such a setup would allow you to quickly adapt. I imagine in future expansions Bioware will make some seriously tough enemies, and this will come in alot of handy when they do. Not to mention some of the custom content thats gonna be pumped out will probably take full advantage of this feature. The difficulty of boss fights can be taken to extremes with such a system as it will allows AI to make decisions faster then a player could make it for them. Meaning no switching back and fourth between players to heal and adjust tactics and alot less of having to pause and play.

And you're still not getting it. If you had asked nicely in your initial post instead of calling it useless, complaining about the diaglog, and just generally sounding like an a-typical troll (whether or not that was your intention) you wouldn't have been insulted or called a troll. Its all about how you present yourself. If you had simply asked what the screens were for and why you should or shouldn't use them there would not have been an issue. If you expect mature responces from people you need to show some first. That's how the world works, sometimes.

There is a definite use for that screen, you just don't know how to use it. That is a very important distinction you need to make. There are defaults to choose from for people who don't want to delve too deep into creating custom AI, use one of those. Absolutely no reason to complain as you are now. The game is as complicated, or as simple as you wish it to be. And on the subject of gabbing, maybe you shouldn't play rpgs since they don't have pretty explosions every couple of seconds to keep your attention. Sorry for feeding the troll.
