Love the part around 50% where he runs into the middle of the mob and just Bud Spencers them all away into all directions :)

Threatening Demons full clear currently uploading.

That video has some good lulz in it too.

My first run against demons apparently i didnt hit the record button hard enough because after i finished there was no video file waiting for me =(

Second run was still successful, but definitely has some amusing moments.

Will post link after it's up.

(likewise, my Red Templar video didnt record properly either, so i'll have to make another one of those for the full series)

well you can see my 4 abilities in the video.. Payback Strike, War Cry, Walking Fortress, Counterstrike

(and honestly, i could probably change war cry to something else for solo runs like these, but i dont always play solo so i just keep it slotted)

Armor is tier 2 with 16con arms and 12% magic damage reduction legs, or something like that.

belt is 10% magic damage reduction.

the rest...is going to be a secret XD (until someone very observant figures it out)

hint: my weapon is level 17. sometimes the lower level option is the better choice.

i will say though, i wish i had a payback strike ring. if i ever get one, it will definitely replace one of my others.

I played the lego first so I really had no idea what to take. Back then I would of never thought of taking Counterstrike over shield wall. I took mostly everything tanky in the Guardian tree and have down to the 3rd tier in the Combined Arms tree: Bear Mauls the Wolves, Deep Reserves and Flow of Battle.

If I were to guess your build:

Combined Arms tree: straight down to Counterstrike, maybe Crippling Blows and Bear Mauls the Wolves?, Flow of Battle and the upgrade to payback strike.

Guardian tree: straight down to Walking Fortress and it's upgrade, Trust the Steel and Bulwark, Adamant and Turn the Bolt, Hardened, Warcry

Are you using the Moon Axe?

I just recently went back to playing the lego after unlocking all the other classes and acquiring better gear.

I just found the "Dwarven Longsword"

210 dps rare sword

173 damage

+16 cold damage (master frost rune)

+34% armor pen

+30 max guard

on hit: gain +3 guard.

My other gear is flat out laughable though. I haven't found anything great for my lego to use

Good eye ^^

Yes that is Moon Axe, I actually replaced Dwarven Longsword with it. So you have both the same weapons I do.

I don't recall the names of all the passive abilities, but I know crippling blows is either the 15% damage reduction or the snare on hit one, I don't have either of them.

And if deep reserves is the stamina one, I don't have that either.

Counter strike is amazing and I will swear by it till the end. People like to complain about the cooldown, but as the video shows - it's always up when I need it.

Tip: prioritize counter strike over walking fortress because you want cs on cool down when you use wf. That way you benefit from the cool down reduction when hit from wf.

Between that and how often I crit (tip!) the cool down on cs is remarkably short.

Oh and I hate shield wall. Don't really see any point in taking it since melee is avoidable, ranged hits me for exactly 1 damage from the front, and I have magic reduction from items.

Bonus points if you can recognize my shield too :o

I don't have the Moon Axe I just looked at level 17 weapons that had a proc that would fit the horn sound lol. 15% armor and damage for 13 seconds is pretty damn good since it procs ALL the time.

Deep Reserves is when your Stamina gets to 50% it regens 50% faster. It's in the middle line so you have to have it =p

I figured you'd have flow of battle since crits happen a lot and it would really help to lower the longer cooldowns on Counterstrike and Walking Fortress.

Yea that tip on prioritizing Counterstrike over Walking Fortress is pro. Most people will overlook that.

Thanks for the help. I'll have to get my lego to 20 he's currently only 18 and then promote him and start over lol.

I haven't played Lego past level 7. What is it that gives you full guard instantly? I have a rare shild and a rare axe that I now wanna try.

Two things can do that:

Counterstrike and War Cry. Counterstrike is a guaranteed full amount of Guard, while War Cry generates Guard according to how many enemies are close to you.

Both are taunts, and if you have Walking Fortress (which makes you immortal for 8 seconds AND can make you generate Guard each time you get hit), you will be incredibly durable.

Hey, you play him like I do, same actives and everything!  Though I run a CDR amulet and two crit rings...much the same effect, honestly.  But yea, so many people dislike Counterstrike because of its cooldown and stamina cost.  But with our playstyle, pretty regularly gets down to a 20 secondish cooldown.  20s for something that gives anti-melee iframes, Archer resistance, global taunt, full guard, and free hits on Walking Fortress...

Recently clutched the entirety of Perilous Wave 5 vs Demons with this build.  Didn't even need to LoS/Kite all that much, just abused the brokenness.

Ugh...over 150 hours logged and I've never got any cdr accessories.

Do 2 crit rings stack? That would be tougher to test but my instinct says they don't - just like ability rings

Someone tested it on reddit and said yes.  Someone else said if you equip two then you can see your...whatchmacallit, flanking attack crit bonus passive increase.  I haven't personally confirmed and was content to be relieved and not do math.

Another thing.  It looooooks like (though it's really, really, really hard to confirm without doing a lot of work) any crits can trigger the -1 CD.  Runes and weapons crit independently.  Based on our eyeballing the other night and attempts to test using Payback Strike, it looks like critting with runes fully procs the -1 CD...which is insane.

You should let the video run into the rewards screen, I'd be interested to see the xp / gold you got from this overall.

I seemed to have noticed that too, regarding rune crits. I didn't do any testing either but sometimes my cooldowns are up waaaay quicker than it seems like they should be.

And I guess I shouldn't have salvaged my extra crit rings zzzz

And re: Zane
the gold isn't much since I skipped treasure rooms, pots, objectives, and nugs.. but when I record a red templar run tonight I'll show the screen for you. I know the demons video didn't go to that screen either.

Another nifty thing about crits: It looks like Counterstrike attacks can crit, judging by the rapid cooldown gains.  I'm not actually seeing damage popups for it so I can't be 100% positive but that + Fortress double dipping would explain why I keep having Counterstrike on a 15ish second cooldown--lower in really heavy fights.

Also, Warcry's armour decays pretty rapidly from 200% over time.

On an Elementalist, Firestorm can cause a critical hit activating Flashpoint.  I assume it would work the same for other passives.

I've definitely seen the damage pop up from counterstrike, sometimes. XD

And I'm not running the upgrade on war cry :o
Went for both 25% bonus guard passives since cs gives a full bar and I generate a lot from my other two actives as well

@hiero: shame flashpoint has an icd ><

Question about armor.

I have the legion commander's plate (stonebound) 71 armor. Is that the highest armor rating I can craft for the lego? I just found level 5 armor for the Reaver 78 armor and Elementalist 68 armor.

For whatever reason, it looks like the 3 starter classes, Archer, Legio, and Keeper only have an ilvl 4 armor as their highest.  While necro and katari get a pretty purple armor as their highest.
