I know BSN isn't a good read for the general fanbase, but what do you think were the most popular options for inquisitor?

II'm willing to bet it was Male human warrior. IIRC, iun previous Dragon age games and in Mass effect, the most popular option is the "standard male normal fighter/soldier class"/ In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if male human warrior was more popular than every other option combined especially given that in Origins, 80% were of human origin

It's safe to say that female dwarf rogue was probably the least played inquisirtor (easily under 5%) but where do you think the other options came in? My guess?

Male human sword n' board is probably a good bet. But I've also seen a ton of people go back and roll a female dalish after seeing the ending.

My guess would be male human sword-and-shield warrior.  It's always the most straight-forward (and, therefore, boring IMO) class/race that gets chosen the most.  In ME the most-played class was soldier.

Most class polls I've seen put mages over rogues and warriors 2-1-1. So, I would guess that human male mage is the most popular.

Die hard fans of the series seem to prefer elves over humans, though.

I'd put elven mage near the absolute top, if not the top. It seems to make the most sense for the story.

I am guessing female elf mage is going to be the top of second play throughs.

I couldn't say... apparently there was some data at one point that made Bioware go human only, so I'm guessing the other races aren't as popular with all fans.  However, with repeat players I think that changes to where humans might not be all that popular since the other races offer better roleplaying differences.

Personally, in DAO it was the elf  rogue for me (probably 60.40 split of female and male in that choice: Morrigan must be romanced sometimes!) and my least was probably the Dwarf Noble (I tend to play it more evil and I only do that rarely).  In Inquisition, I have a feeling it's going to be elf again but the human mage is a fun run so far and I still have to run at least one dwarf and Qunari.  Warrior will definitely be my least played class... I rarely play a soldier/warrior class and almost always go rogue if I go melee.

Male Human Warrior is definitly the most popular, but with everything I'm hearing a lot of people who didn't roll a female elf mage in their first playthrough is going to do so in their second, I hear it's the best of all Inquisition's origins.

edit: And yeah, I'm actually suprised they even included Dwarves, in Origins all of the possible Dwarf origin/class/gender combos still made up less than 5% of Wardens, and that includes replays.

I've seen a lot of Dalish elf female mages.

Probably human or elf mage, I personally played a diplomatic human male mage in my first playthrough, and am playing another in my second playthrough. My third playthrough will be with an aggressive dwarf female rogue, it makes sense to me that someone in the Carta would be a rogue (not that there's anything wrong with being a warrior). So far I'm really liking the default human male voice and the default dwarf female voice, they're great!

I think the OP is right.

I'm guilty of rolling the warrior (but 2hander. Cass and Blackfall are perfect for sns). I didn't care for it in DAO though. Rogues and mages were better. I love rogue Hawke, but the whole promo image of mage Hawke was compelling too. Kind of torn between the two.

I played a human female mage, and I kind of plan on sticking with it in subsequent playthroughs. It might be nice to try the KE spec sometime, and...I just like magic - what can I say? :P

Yeah....I'm pretty sure female drawf rogue/warrior is the least played...I wonder ho much longer Bioware is going to invest in having a playable dwarf race?

I'm also have a suspicion that when Bioware releases its telemetry for DA:I, qunari will be even more popular than elves.

I don't know. That's hard to say. I already see a lot of praise about elves. And I see a lot of people showing off their elves here and at Reddit.

I'm guessing human male warrior and mage is probably the top.

Followed by female elf mage, which seems to be the second play through.

Round that out with the human male rogue, and the human female warrior and mage.

As always, warriors and mages are more popular then rogues, so probably the Qunari inquisitor warrior and mage and the male and female elf come in the next pile.

Bottom is dwarves, as usual.  Male elf warriors might be rarer in this game then in Origins, due to their skinny bottoms.

Females in general are less played then guys (though as the game occasionally starts you with female as default, there are probably more gals then usual by players, as studies say many people don't change the default for some odd reason).  Rogues, as I said, are probably less then warriors and mages.  And dwarves... yeah.  Poor dwarves.

Only 5% of players EVER played a dwarf in Origins, and with competition from the qunari I think that figure will be even lower this time. I'm certainly not counting on having playable dwarves in the franchise going forward - I love them, but it is a lot of work for something very few people ever use. Elves were more popular at around 18%, the other 80% of Origins characters were humans.

I played a female dwarf rogue first, but I suspect that less than 1% of players joined me.

Is a shame that some people choose a male human warrior PC everytime & refuse to even look at the other options, seems like a waste not to try everything thats offered

In this case, it's a good choice. Mages are worse, imo. DAO mages had the most variety and depth to building, and DA2 had a better speed and action feel, I think.

While melee rogues are squishy.. 2Handers do their job better and take a beating.

I think in Origins, most people played male human warriors. Of people who played mages, (15%?) around two thirds were elves. I'm less sure about those numbers. I think in terms of popularity, men>women, humans>elves>qunari>dwarves, (maybe qunari will be more popular than elves, because they're taller, but I doubt it) and warriors>mages>rogues. I don't think the extra plot stuff female Dalish mages romancing Solas get will matter at all - most people playing won't finish the game or hang around message boards finding out about that stuff and seeking it out.

I must be in the minority then, I'm playing as a female dwarf as I type this haha. Granted I did complete my first run as a male human.

I played male human archer as a self insert my first time round but I'm going female elf/human mage next. And then dwarf after that. It's a shame dwarves get so little love. I thought that the dwarf noble origin in origins was one of the best.

Qunari Rogue seems like the most underused candidate. Me first run though was a dwarf warrior.
