I'm honestly just curious, but were these removed so not to stir up Feminists? I mean, must Bioware be that politically correct to retcon an entire entity based on potential negative feedback? If that's really the reason... all I have to say is wow. I mean, I have no other words. You're actively censoring yourself to cator to a fringe minority? You have more homosexual romance options than heterosexual. Where does this end?

Political correctness is a mental disorder. It's not liberal or progressive, it's restrictive and oppressing. Those that demand tolerance while, at the same time, being intolerant of opinions, art and/or entertainment, contradict their own existence. In North Korea the Government censors their people. In America we censor ourselves. What a shame.

I really don't need to go in a moral debate with you since your points are just factually wrong.

1.)No, DESIRE demons weren't removed because of any "SJW agenda" or "feminist propaganda", they were removed along with SLOTH and HUNGER demons in order to include new demons that were different from demons in the previous games, FEAR, DESPAIR and ENVY.

2.)There are more straight romance options that gay ones.

STRAIGHT (4) : Cassandra, Solas, Blackwall, Cullen

GAY (2) : Sera, Dorian

if you add the BI romances (Josephine and Bull) it becomes STRAIGHT (6) and GAY (4), since BI options are avaliable to both genders.

Geesh, these "anti-SJWs" of the internet make no sense with their arguments.

I liked seeing the new demons - Terror, Fear and Despair. And each one had a different fighting style which made them more fun to fight.
And I never liked the design of the Desire Demon anyway, so I'm not bothered if it gets rectonned or otherwised redesigned.

There is technically one desire demon in the game.

They are probably saving the desire demon for the next game. Maybe they're still getting used to the physics in the frostbite engine.

The OP is probably counting the straight female ones as gay because he's never even bothered considered thinking about what a player who isn't him would want in a game.  To his mind he's only got two choices so there are only two straight choices.

Or he's incapable of simple counting.

To be fair, there's no way to know why desire demons were removed, because BioWare would never admit to doing so for "agenda" purposes. This isn't any less "factually wrong" than the post you quoted.

It was a bit odd that they weren't in a game where demons play a central focus. But I don't know if any conclusions can be drawn about that, because as noted, Sloth demons don't appear either.

If they don't appear in the next game either and the series seems to be forgetting about them, then I'd think it might be fair to ask whether or not fear of criticism is playing a role in that element of the lore being 'forgotten.' One game really isn't enough.

Solas also mentions that most of the demons you fight are spirits that are becoming demons by the shock of being forced through the breach.  It seems like that would lend itself to creating more rage, fear and despair demons then it would desire demons.

Considering this game has more nudity than others it's unlikely they've caved to some agenda.

There's also the possibility that, since this game is so combat focused, desire and sloth didn't fit in so well.  Sure, both have displayed combat abilities in the past, but only as a last resort.

But that brings up an entirely separate issue; a lot of people are upset that there aren't many of these types of non-combat encounters (the sloth demon's riddles, the desire demon's offers, etc.) in the game.

Given that Bioware does have the habit of hand-waving lore on a whim, it's not too far-fetched.  But, yes, one game isn't enough to tell.

Sloth demons were too lazy to show up. :P

Desire demons were busy elsewhere... fulfilling desires.

Next game they should have a Feminist Demon, since we're so terrifying. It could have a big sign that says DON'T and hit people with it.

I hope it was purely a plot choice, since desire demons have in the past shown that they'd prefer to avoid violence when possible, opting to deals and bargaining. Thus coming through the rifts and attacking random people doesn't really fit their schtick and characteristics.

So here's hoping they return in all their naked glory in the next game (and with a male variant).

Does look like it, there was actually a non sexualize one in the art work but even that is taken away.

According to the loading screen cards, sloth demons were given a new name.  They are in the game with that new name.
