My guess would be that the argument is: because it takes some amount of effort to make a change (or to consciously leave something out), so the status quo is often considered the "default," and anything else needs to be explained. If BioWare decided to remove dragons from Dragon Age entirely, people would say "well, there better be a good reason for this," and obviously they'd be upset/frustrated if they disagreed with the justification, or just weren't given one at all.I'm a fan and I'm happy to see the 'classic' Desire Demon design given a rest. What makes your opinion any more valid than mine?
Like I said in the other "desire demon" thread: I didn't think the appearance of desire demons made sense. They should have appeared as men, lost loved ones, wealthy people, etc. I didn't particularly care exactly how explicit they looked, and overall I would prefer it if they covered up a bit, though I do think the versions meant to be sexually enticing need to be sexual in some way. I thought the quests that involved desire demons were always really good, and I hope they bring those back any way they can.

Those crazy feminists and their insane agenda! It's their fault we don't have the ability to set detailed tactics or use healing magic as well!
Nah, those two were on the gay agenda. Had to free up some game developments for the ten gay romance options.

They are probably saving the desire demon for the next game. Maybe they're still getting used to the physics in the frostbite engine.
lol I see what you did there.

Why is it that I always see people who claim to be progressive and inclusive being the most mean spirited?

On the internet people in general are just mean spirited.
The ones who are louder(so to speak, not literally of course =P) are more easily noticed, though.

People in all groups can be mean-spirited jerks, idiots, or what have you. Nothing to do with being progressive, just some people are jerks.

Either the OP is a troll, or he actually thinks this. Either way we have a dumb thread. If he's a troll, then mission accomplished. Some people take the bait, and hopefully the thread gets entertainingly derailed. If these are things he sincerely believes, then he should be corrected.

Ok, dude.

Okay wait just reread the OP and there aren't more homosexual options just for clarification. Heterosexual women have the most options, with everyone else having equal options.

It's obvious to me that desire demons were taken out because they looked offensive. Whatever.
That's just an assumption on your part. They were in DA:O and DA2 and the only complaints I saw were things like "why can't there be male desire demons also?" Compare that to how many people said they didn't want multiplayer for example (and that still got put in.) I think it's more that it didn't fit anywhere in the main story and would have been too much work for a side quest (just look at Imshael, he had a human model).

aaaaaw :'( No desire demons? That makes me sad. The Rage/Pride/etc. demons was always so single-minded and seldom that interesting. Desire demons are massively cool in the type of "feel" they can convey in quests and interactions. Also what's wrong with sexy? It fits the theme of the demon. Oh well, back to farming metals and delivering letters for people... (sigh)

Desire always struck me as a demon that should change form based on what it is that the person actually desired, since desire doesn't really have a singular theme like rage or pride would.
Some people want something sexual, but a lot of people also want power and wealth among other things.

A truer thing has never been said in the history of the universe.
Except for that guy who said a thing is what it is and not something else.
