(sorry if this isn't the right place for this, but the description for the subforum seems to indicate that it's alright)

So, how about that outfit you and your fellows wear during the ball? I've seen people complain that they don't like that the women wear the same thing as the men, and how they want a ball gown mod. Thoughts?

Me, I love it, and I'd love to wear it. Problem being, there's no time that I'd ever be able to wear it other than at Comic Con, but even then I don't think I could do it because I'm pretty certain I can't make one and buying one would be super expensive (should anyone ever do that).

Also, I'm sad that I haven't been able to find any full body back/front images of it. (any help there would be appreciated)

Discuss.

The problem with a gown is that you have to fight a lot during parts of the quest. I wouldn't mind something a tad more formal or feminine but a full gown seems a bit unrealistic.

I love the outfit. It's very proper and very uniform. But I do agree that having options for other companions would be great, make it more personal.

Vivenne would NOT be caught dead wearing it. She'd wear her usual outfit in a heartbeat. She's a master at The Game, so where's her mask?

Varric needs to have his unbuttoned to expose that wonderful chest hair

Iron Bull... Umm... Where'd we get one in that size? I get it that it would be awkward to have him in his usual garb, but he looks even weirder in that.

The advisors are ok, since they ARE the face of the Inquisition. Seeing Leliana and Josephine in different garb would be a nice touch, though.

Dorian should be wearing something a bit more... Tevinter? I could see him wanting to cause a scandal.

I wish we could just have options. I wouldn't want to be forced to wear a dress, but I would have really liked to wear one.

How I justified everyone wearing that outfit is that it showed the Inquisition's more militant side of things, very reflective of a formal military garb.

Sure being able to wear a ball grown or have companions wear something more their taste would make sense but they're also expecting an assassination. I don't think they want to be fighting in a dress.

I dunno, Vivi is used to freezing people and then possibly kill them at parties.

I don't really feel it fits with the rest of the world.  I mean, it's basically Napoleonic.

I found it very immersion killing to go from a Ferelden that was socially and architecturally 14th Century to an Orlais that was socially and architecturally 17th Century... while wearing an 18th Century uniform tunic....  The baroque style looks gorgeous, but clashes badly with everything else. :/

agreed. the outfit isn't even what men of the era would have worn.

besides what is wrong with wearing a mage robe vs a gown?

everyone is wearing the same and not wearing masks (which is scandalous in Olaris so I am wondering why Vivienne and Leiliana and Josie would made those mistakes). So it is kind of weird.

I was hoping that it can be dress for the female and my dalish elf cannot dance to save her life. but im rather surprise that her race does not matter and she dance better than Cullen.

I thought he looked quite dashing, personally.

I thought they looked great. Crafted a masterwork one with all the dragon spoils, now I run around Thedas like a murderous magical zouave.

I loved it on my male human. But I'm playing through as a female dwarf, I am already not a fan of the skyhold outfit on her, I worry about this suit.

I like that outfit but colours... Man, they're killing me. And so does the colour of our skyhold outfit. Why on earth we are not able to change them?

The NPCs agree it doesn't look nice on women. In my game, the NPC women say disdainfully, "What on earth is Lady Pentaghast is wearing?"

I must admit I felt like the ball was bit unambitious. I mean it's such occasions that role players like having an impact on because it's visual. There's a reason why dress-up dolls are popular after all.

Maybe have the choice before the ball to go formal or in uniform. I know many at the very least would have loved to really doll up and go as a "proper" lady big skirts'n all..

Also the pajamas you wear in Skyhold. It clipping through my Qunari's chin gets annoying, please Bioware I'd love an option where that could be avoided :P

I lovet he formal outfit, fits my qunari like a glove, much bettert hen those horrible Skyhold PJs she has to wear.

Wish I could wear that outfit at SKyhold, would not be scared she will rip her clothing...

I liked the military look. Fit my Qunari way better than a dress ever would.

I thought it was something that fit the look of a dignitary.

That being said, I'm rather surprised that Leliana or Vivienne wore it instead of something more... Orlesian.

Made me feel like I was either in the Czar's cavalry or in The Nutcracker.

Both of those being awesome, I have no complaints.

I like the uniform, though it made me feel a bit like the Nutcracker brigade with all of the Inquisition members wearing it.  I certainly wouldn't say no to a lovely ball gown, but I understand why they went for the uniform, and I'm glad that it at least looks nice.
