I swear, every time one of these fops mentions "muh game" there needs to be a renegade option to punch them.
There should also be an option to support Ferelden to wipe them off the map.

Orlais is the worst because of the terrible fake french accents. Notice how the only two Orlisians that sound good are Stroud and Leliana? Must just be a coincidence that those are the only two with VAs that are actually French.
Given that there are still several other kingdoms we have yet to explore, I have no idea. I hear Tevinter's got a bad rep however.
I gues that you´ll hate as much Antiva...
In-universe, I'd probably prefer to visit Orlais over most of the other kingdoms. No way would I want to actually visit Mageopolis, or The Hamster Habitat for Dwarves and Darkspawn formerly known as Orzammar.

I love the lore behind Orlais, I just deeply hate the horrendously-exaggerated and even insulting attempts at remotely trying to sound "typically / stereotypically" French. I don't know if it was done on purpose by both the VAs and BioWare, or if the voice actors and actresses were actually told to "sound like that" by the writers (lest they would have sounded completely different otherwise?). But the end result in the game is just generally very difficult to take seriously and role-play through... ugh... it's horrible.
One of the worst example I can think of: Mother Giselle.
I actually avoided talking to her in my first playthrough, will probably do the same in my second one; she sounds like torture.
I am French myself and couldn't agree more with Chuvvy about Stroud and Leliana (and also a select few other Orlesian officers and merchants who actually don't sound halfway irritating). By comparison the Antivan accents sound like lullabies to my ears (Josy, please, talk to me about anything, and you too Zevran).
Tevinter is probaly one of the darker kingdoms at least as bad as Orlais.

Yeah but they have cool mage robes so that's a +1 in my book

The worst kingdom in Thedas is definitely not Orlais.
Antiva, Orzammar and Old Tevinter would give it a run for its money.
Ferelden deserves a honourable mention since they just can't seem to keep their [Excrement] together.
Maybe that's how Quebec French speak?
Canadian here, sorry to say - but that is most definitely not how Quebecers talk. This is how a a french-Canadian speaks when mocking France.
Edit: More on-topic, Orlais is personally the nation I hate the most simply because of 'The Game' being placed above the well-being of the nation. Not only that it's morally disgusting, it's a waste of one of the most powerful kingdoms in Thedas, but I guess that's why they're french. ![]()

I'm not sure if that's exactly what they were going for, you would think that if they were trying to have a french accent, they would get people who can property do the accent. Plus this is Orlais, not France.
think it's just a regional thing, I have a friend from Spain who hate the Antivan accent and I've seen British player comments hating the ferelden accent. Some of the dwarven accents make me roll my eyes at times.
I've said it before, Orlais sound like 'Allo Allo' TV series, actually the 'french' accents on Allo Allo are less over the top.
As someone who just started watching the Wire before playing DAI, all the Orlesian talk of "the Game" kind of made me crack up.

Largely because they’re constantly harangued by the Orlesians…

They're more realistic (aside from the policeman)

As someone from Montréal, Québec... No. Not even close. This is how someone from Québec talks when they want to mock a french accent, in fact.
I like the lore behind Orlais, but the writers tried to make it more french than France itself, and it shows. Leliana has a good french accent; the more foppish ones are pretty much parodies. It's like if someone tried to convince you that a stuck-up British gentlemen with a monocle and a top hat going ''I say, wot wot?'' all the time was a normal and non-cliché english person.
