Would be nice to re-use our inquisitor from a finished game, like Mass Effect did? It's kind of messed up we can't upload a previous saved character.

Second Shiva on this, please make it happen BioWare? Even a tool outside of the game like the DAO character creator. Something to just be able to replay the same character since creating the same exact character twice in the CC is near impossible!

Which is better actually? something like new game plus? or just  re-use the character model?

I just posted something of similar concern about new game plus style mode to make replay value better.

Mine focuses more on retaining schematics and resource inventory so people can have their characters continue to benefit from the work their original did..but I agree this is a good idea as well.

A New Game+ would be kinda weird since you're not supposed to be all powerful yet, but it could be done with a few tweaks.

1. Level reset to 1
2. +20% XP gain
3. All unlocked schematics are retained
4. Specialization tree already unlocked
5. Ability to possibly change specialization after reaching Skyhold
6. 1 free ability point (2 if human)

Having the schematics would be amazing. A bit annoying to unlock the fun stuff when there is nothing left to do :x

Why do any of that?

^It's a whole issue of balance if the player isn't reset - since the highest leveled opponent is around level 20; yet there is no hard levelcap for the Inquisitor.  So if you did retain your level, you might wind up finishing the New Game+ at about level 40 - and end up just walking over every dragon in the game.

I actually like those suggestions, personally.  Though I think how ME handled specializations would probably be best.  You're locked in as soon as you choose one in the first game, and aren't able to change them in future playthroughs.

Also, giving humans 2 extra ability points is probably too much.  If you're going to give the player ability points for doing a New Game+ it should probably only be 1, and it might be best to only allow them to replay their character 1 time.  Otherwise, someone might rush through a number playthroughs, just so they can get 10 extra ability points at start.

Other than that, I think those ideas are solid.  :)   Would love to see this implemented.

excellent idea and doesnt make you overpowered against non-scaling enemies.

Interesting idea to restart the game with a previously used character, but unless there are changes made to enemy level's you couldn't get experience from most anything in the game as enemies do not scale with the player character level. At this point it seems like any high level content would have to come from future DLC or expansions, though it would be nice to restart with previously gained schematics to make use of the better gear you otherwise won't get till near the end of the game. Maybe keep recipies for potions/tonics/ect. as well to keep us all playing till future DLC/expansions are released.

Cassandra killed a dragon and saved a city when she was like, 16. She was never "level 1."

The Iron Bull is a very celebrated and experienced merc. Not "level 1."

Vivienne is one of the most powerful mages in the Orlesian Empire. Not "level 1."

Even your character isn't necessarily a green rookie in this game, which is a very welcome change.

Etcetera and so forth.

New game plus is just that - a bonus, and it is probably the most sorely needed additions overall to Dragon Age across all the games, especially considering how difficult it is to recreate your character should you want to replay them this time around. Beyond that, it would be fun to be able to use all your high level goods from the beginning. Why is balance necessarily an issue?

YES to NG+!

I would also like to add that I'd like to retain all the resources (herbs, metals, etc.) that I've gathered from previous playthroughs.

Cassandra should come with a one hit kill on dragons as a special ability...stupid Bioware ignoring their own cannon
