Now, I really need confirmation here, as I HAVE gotten in-game content in an EA game via this linked account in the past. Is something different this time?

This is horse crap. I better get my items. The instructions are horrible. Why did it not just say redeem ceberus codes once u put in the bloody disc!
Seriously, the cards say to load them up on this site, and thats what most everyone has done.
Why then are we just learning about the EA.com account that everyone was linked to previously from other games, after the fact that our codes are linked to THIS site and not entered on the console like it should have been?

What happens, if we had a different email for the Xbox, then we did the social network site for the download? I had no idea what linked email my EA account was... nor did the card warn me that i'd lose everything if I didn't fact check like a Wall Street Journal writer.
Please tell me the official Bioware line isnt ..."My bad"
The same email address should be used for both.
This is their answer? F-ing Seriously? I followed the instructions per the card and because some random game a long time ago had my gtag linked to an old email address - I'm screwed? Really. I was really looking forward to this game - now it's going in the trash. God I hate EA.
Same here - it seems a big surprise to EA that people have more than one eMail adress. I certainly won't change accounts only because EA/Bio is not able to link two accounts with different eMail adresses.
If that's what it takes they can keep their "bonus" DLC - I'll happily buy all games used from now on - if I buy them at all.

but what if we put our 360 codes on the mass effect website? it wont let me download anything. Also when i go to purchase it says its free so im not sure what is going on.
if you put your 360 codes on the me2 website, you should still be ok - provided you used the same ea online account in-game
the problem is that we are unable to download the cerebrus network content from xbox live, i'm assuming it has something to do with the little DLC "mishap" yesterday
once the code has been used on the website, when you try to enter it into the game it shows up as already being in use, and the "purchase access to cerebrus" option gives the error "can't download items, please try again later"
there is no where in the game that we are able to enter our EA account information, im assuming that screen is accessed AFTER redeeming the code (which once again we can't do because the code is already showing as being in use)

The thing is, you can't change your email on an existing account, and you can't create a new account that links to any of your other stuff if there's already an account linked to it. So theoretically it's not possible just to make a new account with the same email address as your Gamertag if you've already got an account.
Now, I really need confirmation here, as I HAVE gotten in-game content in an EA game via this linked account in the past. Is something different this time?
If they would simply allow you to detach your linked gamertag - all would be golden. But no! It's impossible and to make it worse - I hear countless horror stories how people have tried through support for years to have an account deleted or gt removed... I knew when I saw that ea stamp on the artwork there was going to be trouble.

Or at least give us the ability to change our own email address. This and EA are the only site I've ever encountered that I couldn't change my own email...

So basically I've just been screwed out of the armor and the weapon. I'd still like those items but it sounds like its going to be an absolute nightmare to get them.
Not all of us payed much attention to what E-mail we registered under etc. You **** should have simply used the redeem code built into the xbox dashboard.

Fatal Error is common. No fix for it yet. Your temporarily boned.
I never post on forums ever either. I'm so ****ing pissed. I can't play the game now cause I don't want to beat it without using my ****ing Terminus armor and gun and ****ing cerberus DLC. ALL OF WHICH DO NOT WORK. So much for using DLC as a ploy for more retail purchases. This is enshrouded with bull****.
