I just killed the 1st dragon in emprise on nightmare using a tempest tank, it was pretty much a solo kill although I had another character who was spamming staff attacks- my inquisitor so I couldn't go solo.

I was level 20 he was 19.the dragon.It was actually fairly easy also to be clear I didn't use the focus thousand cuts hack as I had no focus at the time.

It's pretty fun to play, obviously very gear dependant I ran with plus guard on hit and hidden blades proc.

Flask of fire is your offensive/ defensive phase because you can spam abilities that do good damage but also build guard.

Flask of lightning is your defensive / offensive phase it can be used when in danger to reposition and quickly build up guard without being any danger.

Flask of frost is pure defensive obviously.

I just wanted to get some theory crafters in here to get there opinions.

I have tried a couple of different specs the most useful includes hidden blades the guard generation seems to work well, the other option I'm thinking of is I think it's called spinning blades because upgraded it does 9 attacks which seems like a good guard builder.

Bearing in mind flank attacks are going to be limited to the lightning flask phase do you feel like poison is a good option?

If anyone has any ideas that would be cool otherwise Ill keep mucking around with it.

Sounds like fun. With Guard on Hit it's very hard to die haha

 

Fade Touch w/ Heal on Hit might be useful. Can find them from Snoufleurs. 

 

Keeping in theme with Tempest focus on drinking stuff, making Rock Armour? Though I don't know how useful that'd be.

this is cnsidered exploit that makes game trivial. Its should not be so. They will fix it. It feels like cheating when you exploit this.

I assume you used the Longbow of the Griffon, the ultimate anti-dragon weapon in the game. It makes them so much easier. Also, with Flask of Lighting and proper positioning, you won't feel like using Flask of Fire glitch anymore.
Actually that Dragon is pretty easy, and so is the next one. I took them both one after the other.
The third one can give you some trouble, but still not that hard. Late game there isn't much challenge anymore.
